“It’s just the way the game is going now,” he said following the team’s third summer league practice on Saturday ahead of its trip to Salt Lake City on Sunday. “It’s something that I expected and something I knew I would have to work on coming in when I started my draft process.

“As you watch the game, it’s going that way. (Power forwards) are now stretching the floor, shooting the 3, putting the ball on the floor and making decisions like they are a point guard. It’s something I will have to improve upon. It shows that Coach has some confidence in me where he believes I can do those things.”

Mickey said Celtics coach Brad Stevens specifically told him at his exit interview that he wanted him to further develop his shooting range, be able to better switch onto smaller players and stay with them defensively, and start the fastbreak off a rebound.

He’s taken the advice to heart and his attempts to heed it have been evident early in the summer.
“Jordan is adding different things,” said Celtics assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry, who will guide the team in the Utah Summer League. “He and (Celtics director of player development) Kenny Graves have worked so hard together each and every day. We practice at 10 (a.m.) and Jordan is here at 8 o’clock.

“He’s the first guy who is out on the floor and he’s working on not just the things he’s done well, but he’s stretching his shot out to the 3. He takes a lot of corner 3s. He’s even trying things out on the break. He’s catching it and putting it on the ground a little bit against guys who are at his level.

Exciting news. I expect big things from him at Summer League, and hopefully, he'll contribute during the season as well.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

The real question is, who's REALLY the first on the floor? Mickey or Brown?

The suspense is killing me.

I would so rather just roll with Mickey than give anything resembling big money to a guy that just shouldn't get it.

We just drafted some young bigs. I would just totally totally hold the line on spending.

Our money should be reserved for stars and that is all.

I found the "guys who are at his level" part amusing.
