Meanwhile, the Clippers—as well as Pierce's former team, the Celtics—have also expressed interest in signing the 37-year-old, Pro Basketball Talk reports. While Pierce logging minutes with the Wizards at power forward was instrumental to Washington's playoff success this past postseason, the Clippers would reportedly plan to use Pierce at small forward. USA Today's Sam Amick reports that the Clippers are not optimistic that Pierce would take less money to sign with Los Angeles.

I'm sure Wyc has called Pierce, and Danny has called Pierce, and Tommy has called Pierce.  He'd be a useful player in the 3/4 role that Stevens wants help at and someone who can keep the offense from stagnating late in games.  But more he would be a great recruiter for a major free agents, since he better than anyone could speak first hand to how great Boston is to play basketball in.
