Each actual deal is worthy of its own thread to discuss the merits of it. Now, if it were another Love rumor, or such, just plug it into any number of Love threads around (as I usually do).

But new contract agreements and new deals deserve their own threads.

That is surprising. I thought they would wait and give themselves max wiggle room cap wise for other free agents. Kawhi's cap hold goes up to the max deal once there is an oral (not written) agreement. Unless the rules have changed. Doesn't this hurt SAS?

I think that's a bit inaccurate, someone correct me if wrong, but oral agreements during this period of Moratorium have no effect on the cap holds.

Oh okay.

I looked it up. So it does not count as an agreement in this period but does if made outside of this period. This is still officially cast as a negotiation. Not agreement.

A cap hold for salaries in contracts that have been agreed to but not yet executed (i.e., verbal agreements or agreements pending physicals). Note: During the July Moratorium (see question number 104), teams may not enter into verbal or written agreements. Therefore any agreements that are struck during the moratorium are still characterized as negotiations, and do not count toward team salary.
