Monroe will probably never be a franchise player or anything, but if he puts up 18-10 on a team that wins 50 games, especially in a major media market, he'll be relatively high profile and make a lot of money.

You would think the Cs could make the case for him that Boston would be that place.

Yeah, Boston would be a good situation for him to put up stats. He will get tons of possessions, and you can bet that Stevens will maximize his considerable strengths. I could see him averaging 20ppg here.

They can try.  The best argument they can make is that the Celtics are a lot closer to winning 50 games than the Knicks or Lakers.  I just feel like that's a hard sell to NBA free agents because I think they place a lot of importance on a team already having a star in place.

I honestly feel that Boston is more Monroe's style than NYC. He's always struck me as a quiet, introverted, blue-collar player. Perhaps that's just wishful thinking.

Ainge has said he's willing to take the chance on selling the city and the organization on players on short contracts. If Monroe really does want a two-year deal, I doubt that's a stumbling block for Ainge.

I voted "Other," because he'll call his mom. Because that's where he gets all his good tips.

I answered Harris.  I think they'll want to lock up the SF they need.  Then the second call goes to Robin Lopez to be our big in the middle.  Of course, if a trade happens, this may become moot.

Lineup:

Guards: Smart/Bradley - IT/Hunter/Rozier
SF: Harris - Turner/Young/Crowder/Wallace
PF: KO - Sully/Mickey
C: Lopez - Zeller

Starters are to the left of the -.  I combined the guard position due to the flexibility of most to play either and I think Stevens will use them this way.

I think Bass, Babb, Pressey, Datome, Jerebko are goners.

That said, all of this is moot if Danny hits us with a trade, such as the one Aldridge mentions.

Biyombo.

Nah... probably Kevin Love.

As we've discussed, joking aside that might actually be his first call. "Calls" with top players have already been prearranged.

Per the thread I just started, I'm going with a wild card: Ty Chandler.
