hi everyone. two questions:

1) i'm clueless as to how max contracts will work this off season. if kevin love or another big name opts out of his current deal and becomes an unrestricted FA, or say deandre jordan or lamarcus aldridge and then resigns a one year deal with his current team what would the max contract be for the one year compared to if without any trade or anything, he just signs with another team outright for one year? is it 21 million if with current team, 19 million with other team? what would the difference in salaries be?

2) on another topic, would be we able to combine gerald wallace's 10 million dollar contract with the 12 million dollar trade exception to take on a $22 million salary? can a tpe be used like that?

thank you

1. It is not much of a difference in terms of 1 year deals, the home teams can offer an extra year to the contract. So at the end of the deal there will be about 20 million in difference. If he keeps doing 1 year deals like Lebron he can get 5% increase in salary every year. If he does go to a different team he looses his bird rights for Portland which allows him to sign a 6 year contract.
2. TPE can not be combined with anything. Either a player fits into it or doesn't.
here is a chart of what LMA can make: http://www.blazersedge.com/2015/5/20/8612507/portland-trail-blazers-lamarcus-aldridge-free-agent-trade-contract
