realisticaly how good is he,i like him except he has a slow release-a strong bench over the season wins games-
it seems to meby drafting young players that need to improve-that this is very difficult during regular season except with red claws-travelling and sitting on bench seems a waste of time for the few minutes they get--isn't it better picking up recycled players later ,that are developed while young players work with red claws and get coached on weaknesses and called up for home games--unless they are nba ready

Depends who they grab at the draft. But a good chance yes.  3 year 12 million dollar deal

He is a solid player at the 4. People forget how tall he is and how good of a shooter he is. His defense and rebounding are also very valuable. For the right contract sign him, but the question is what is a right contract.

Obviously not a priority, but I like what he brings to the table of the bench.

Versatile, two-way player, can switch 3-5, hits the open 3, runs the floor and hustles madly. Sounds like a valuable bench player.

Now it all depends on what happens on draft night and with the big FA fishes.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

If we do not trade up and keep all four draft picks it will make more sense not to re-sign him. Even assuming a couple of our drafts are eurotalents who stay abroad for the next season, we' ll still need to give the remaining 2-3 rookies (+Young) playing time.

An extra concern is cap flexibility, esp if we make a move for a FA this summer.

Jerebko is 28 yo and a role player of limited use.

Don't get me wrong, I do like what he brings, esp. the combination of high 3p% and height. But he is far from indispensable.

By some metrics (real +/-) he was our best big, but I too, do not think he is a priority.   I think we will see what happens the draft, then make a decision.

I'd like him to be part of the team moving forward because he's going to bring effort off the bench more often than not and guys like that help you win in the regular season.  You just don't want to overpay so a lot probably depends on his interest in staying here for a while.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
He's a nice piece and fits in well with the current team, but spending money on him takes away cap flexibility for the stars we really need to compete. I would be all about keeping him if he were already signed, but he kind of falls into Brandon Bass territory - which is too bad since I like both of them.

he would be a nice trade piece later in year, towards trade deadline does that factor in
-i know pressey is cheap but ,its time to have a rookie in his spot, just too short-bench players must be good to compete ask cleveland and the warriors--if this was year to tank, next year with nets picks the celts are looking good-a shame to give away jerebko and bass-jerebko will benefit from another year wth stevens and company-

I agree with the people saying that it all depends on the draft. Lets say that the BPA at 16 is Portis, in that case there will be little or no room for Jonas. Lets say we trade down to 9 and grab SJ, but it was at a cost of trading one of KO or Sully. In that case there is more of a reason to resign him.

Actually, Kelly Olynyk was both out best big and our best player, as far as Real +/-

Only six C's ended the year in the positive as far as Real +/-. With their league ranking in parentheses, they are:

KO - 3.51 (34)
Jerebko - 2.59 (56)
Smart - 2.21 (67)
Sully - 1.67 (87)
IT4 - 1.45 (92)
Zeller - 0.58 (126)
