I don't think you actually read what you're citing.

No, I did those are numbers for people off the street not NBA players in the top one.  The bottom one is estimate certainly.

But in no way is 25.5" standing vertical good for an NBA player.

Sullinger who is not a good leaper is a 29.5"

I would guess that many here have never had their verticals tested as part of a basketball program.   They did it to us in college and believe me, 25" is pretty yucky.

And what was Sullinger's max vert? That's the point. There is a huge difference between 1 legged and 2 legged jumpers. Dominique would destroy MJ in non-step test because of it, but does that mean he was a better athlete or could jump higher? Dekker had a 34.5 max, what was yours?

The no step is important for rebounding. Also I seem to recall Dekker being furious right after his jump and wanting to do it again but they didnt let him. The more accurate number is probably a bit higher.

I know I don't know anything, but I would be very disappointed if this is how the draft turned out - especially seeing WCS all the way at 13 (who I can't imagine will go seven spots after Kaminsky). We can all rationalize how Dekker is going to be awesome if we choose him, but I don't imagine this is choice number one for the Celticsblog crowd.

As for #28, I am just hoping one of Upshaw, RHJ, or Harrell drops (a lot to ask, I know). Those are all guys I may even grab with #16.

Agree.  I really like WCS, although what appears to be an increase in flakiness recently would make me unwilling to trade the pieces necessary to get to 6-8 to pick him up.  But at 13?  Yup.

As for the second pick, I would be happy with any of those three at #28.  I wouldn't consider any of them with the #16, though.
