Say we pick up the 12th from the Jazz for Bradley. Whom do you draft in this scenario.

I'll Go. Myler turner at 12. In this scenario if we went Upshaw at 16 it would be mind blowing to actually have NBA size and shot blocking ability, But I'd go with my boy Kevon Loony cause he's so darn versatile, plays hard.

Turner and Looney would bring a totally different look to the Celtics defense and rebounding. Looney is actually the better rebounder. Turner the better shot blocker and mid range shooter. But Looney is very active on Defense with steals and blocks.

Uphaw had the highest Standing reach at 9'5" Looney was 9'2" and Turner 9'4" respectively.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

I'd be fine with Turner at #12.
I'd also like Jerian Grant in that range,  I see a lot of Gilbert Arenas in his game as a combo wing next to Smart.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

In order of preference...

12:  Turner, Payne, Booker, Dekker   Upside guys to be patient with (Dekker ready, Payne maybe too)

16:  Payne, Booker, Dekker, Portis, Lyles, Grant        Ditto for Booker (the rest more ready)

i dont see us getting the 12 without giving up our 16
but if we do i would take turner and booker
rim protection and perimeter shooting are the keys to a good team

I wouldn't trade Bradley for the 12th pick.  I don't see this as much of a deep draft, and there is no learning curve with Bradley.  C's need to get better quickly.  I don't see the 12th pick helping the team out over the next 2-3 years nearly as much as Bradley.

Why not go further and all Belichicky not just 12 (AB to Jazz) lets add 14 (Sully and Turner to Thunder ).  ::)
At 12 take  Booker.
At 14 take Big Frank.

At 16 I trade back with Rockets. To 18 and advance 45 to their high 32nd pick. Rockets take Payne.
At 18 I trade out for Pacers 1st next year and pick 43. Pacers take Tyrus Jones.
At 28 take Harrell (I see him sliding and being there).
At 32 take Andrew Harrison.
At 33 take Dakari Johnson adds a true center to back up Zeller. Team lacks true Centers as the Cavs series showed.
At 43 take Richaun Holmes blend of Center and PF.

So Booker(12), Frank(14), Harrell(28), Harrison (32), Dakari(33), and Holmes(43). It's a lot of rookies but most are experienced so quick development is likely. I plan on letting all current FAs walk as well. I expect a lot of growing pains and no playoffs. Top 5 pick in 2016 maybe get lucky and snag Lab. By passing this 2015 FA there will be 50 million in capspace in the big 2016 FA. So team going this route could have huge player acquisition pieces and $.

Roster after the draft
Smart/IT/Pressey
Harrison/Booker
Wallace/Young
KO/Frank/Harrell
Zeller/Dakari/Holmes

If Jazz would give up #12 for Bradley, it might make sense depending on what else Boston wants to do.

They can't start Thomas and Bradley together... so if they intend to start Thomas, it needs to be next to a bigger guard like Smart.

Trading Bradley for #12 would presumably free up another 6 mil in cap space (since we'd be paying 1.8 mil for #12 instead of 7.7 mil for Bradley) which might make a big difference if we're trying to land more than 1 major free agent this summer.  Splitting 29 mil is better than splitting 23 mil.   If you then dumped Wallace's contract as well you're looking at almost 40 mil in cap space to play with.

If the Jazz are taking Bradley without sending unwanted salary back to us, they are undoubtedly going to ask for 16 too.
