It has to be the 2013 team and I don't even think its close.

Pierce and KG lead that team to a series win over a bunch of young unestablished guys regardless of their talent and motor.

If Avery Bradley (2013) was playing point and Avery Bradley (2015)/ Marcus Smart were playing defense against him, Avery Bradley (2013) would not be able to bring the ball up the court 3/4 times.

The 2013 Celtics would destroy the 2015 Celtics in the half-court, but they'd have to get there first.

Avery Bradley (SG, 2015) has the advantage over Avery Bradley (PG, 2013) both offensively and defensively. (++Advantage 2015)
Paul Pierce (2013) has a major advantage on offense against either Crowder or Smart, but I think the match up is closer defensively. (+Advantage 2013)
Jeff Green has the advantage over Evan Turner, both offensively and defensively, but I think this match-up is closer than any Jeff Green Fan (tm) would like to admit. (+Advantage 2013)
Brandon Bass (2015) is a major improvement over Brandon Bass (2013). He's the same athlete, only with more tools. (+Advantage 2015)
Kevin Garnett has the advantage over Tyler Zeller in both offense and defense. Garnett is strong enough down low to give Zeller fits, and he's quick enough to keep up with Zeller on the pick and pop/15 foot jumper game. (++Advantage 2013)

Coach wise, I'm giving it to Stevens by a hair. This could be a wash, but frankly, I think Stevens means more to the 2015 team than Doc meant to the 2013 team.

I think it comes down to the bench. If Jason Terry can match IT4 in production, the 2013 team wins. If IT4 out performs Jason Terry, which I think is probably the case more often than not...

2015 in 7 games. Smart and Bradley average 4 steals apiece.

I think a lot of folks in this thread are automatically saying "2013" without realizing how different 2013 was from 2008.  We weren't a good team in 2013.  We were a borderline playoff team lead by elderly players.  There's a reason why Ainge blew it up.  It was a hopeless situation.   Maybe that team has too much experience for the 2015 squad, but the 2015 squad might also run them into the ground.

It's a toss up for me:

Average score would be something like 75 to 74, though.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

2015 team would win.

2015 team won six games in a row going into the playoffs and has a better coach.

I agree with you on this..I remember how much trouble 2013 team would have with young teams...hell even the 2008 team had trouble with young teams...see 1st round Atlanta playoff series...
2025 Fantasy Draft Philadelphia 76ers:
PG: Rajon Rondo '11-'12;  WestBrook; Wall
SG: James Harden '18-'19 Marcus Smart
SF: Andrei Kirilenko '05-'06; Peja Stojakovic
PF: Anthony Davis '17-'18;   Kevin Love, Griffin
C: Amare Stoudemire '04-'05;   Marcus Camby

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
It's easy to just assume 2013 because of the roster, but the 2015 team won about the same number of games with quite a bit more adversity. It is interesting seeing teams like this year's Cs and, to a greater extent, this year's Hawks performing extremely well in a league that is supposedly run by superstars.

Last year's Spurs gave a lot of franchises hope. If an organization is run to perfection (and everybody buys into that system), they can beat just about anybody.

To answer your question, this year's team wins.

2015 would win in 6-7 games. They would run the 2013 team to the ground. CBS is a lot better than Doc. Doc just motivates and talks. Stevens does a lot more things and very detailed oriented.

Doc had KG and Pierce and he managed to win just 41 games on the same weak east. Only 7 teams deserved to be in the playoffs in the east that year. CBS rallied the team to be in the the playoffs with 6 teams fighting for the last 3 spots in the last 2 months.

One could say that Doc's resting players and just want to get in the playoffs regardless of their seed but he should have been able to utilize his bench more. Which what Brad did, with all the players coming and going and injuries to key players, they still found ways to win.

Interesting to see that the 2013 team was on the decline while the 2015 is developing.

I think I agree.  Brad outcoaches Doc in the series.

I think the consensus will change depending on how the playoffs go this year for us.   If we get our butts handed to us, maybe I'd say 2013.  But as of right now, I think the 2015 squad is better.  Danny traded everything of value for long-term assets and somehow built a better squad out of our ringers.
