Next year is his final year. I like him, but we could be getting two good C prospects in the draft/FA.

How much would you re-sign him for? I wouldn't commit more than $5M a year for him as he is at best a backup. Thoughts?

Resign him to a nice contract and let him play 25 - 30 minutes a game...

Zeller is the 2nd big off the bench type player.  Given his size that is probably a MLE type contract.  I'd be fine with that assuming Boston actually has its starting center at that time because there is no point in locking in the backup to a lot of years if you don't have the starters.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Zeller is the type of player you give the qualifying offer to in the summer of 2016, and see what happens from there.  Next offseason they might offer him an extension with the first year equal to his cap hold, like they did with Bradley, but at $6.5 million that might be a bit high. He's a serviceable big who's still got room for growth tho, so maybe it's not, especially post cap-explosion.

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Absolutely resign him.   He has Bass like ethics , a professional , not a whining  WIeRD diva or thug.

You sign him , he keeps getting better , while waiting to land the starting center.

He has the attitude ,team first , to come off the bench on a winning contending team.

Depends on what he wants, I would not mortgage the team for him.   This starting will be good for him when we get a real stud because he will be better at matching up off the bench.
