You are absolutely right.  Stevens has received a TON of criticism on CB and he is proving a lot of posters wrong.  He is a working miracles with a team of role players and no superstar.  Can't wait to see what he can do when he has better talent to work with.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Ive never really understood the large amount of criticism he receives from some on this blog, he is after all a 2nd year coach. If you look at other message boards (r/nba) for example, Stevens is held in high regards and there are many fans who wish they could trade coaches with us in a heartbeat.

How can a coach win with this roster but not the more talented one from just earlier this season?

Stevens is clearly a smart guy but, for example, when he flipped the starting pg spot between Smart, Turner and Nelson in the space of one week, that was a straight up panic move.  And he's clearly had trouble with line ups and rotations in a 48 minute, 4 quarter game.

Or maybe Stevens was experimenting earlier in the season with an almost-completely overhauled team. You're knocking him for trying something different when what he was doing wasn't working? This is the guy that made Jeff Green a 20ppg scorer, the guy that made athletically-diminished Rondo look very good. He's a fantastic coach. Let's not attribute his ingenuity to blind luck.

Even if you want to call it luck, he put himself in a position to get lucky (no pun intended). In actuality, true luck is when hard work, preparation, and desire come together. Stevens was hard working and prepared enough to get lucky with his lineups.

Give Danny Ainge some credit.

He got us some good players.
