James Best, best known for his portrayal of Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane on
The Dukes of Hazzard,
died last night (Monday) at 88.
I filed this thread under Television because Best's work as Rosco is what he was, umm, best known for, but he also played in a lot of old movies, particularly westerns. The Dukes of Hazzard is my favorite TV show of all-time—which may seem strange, but I grew up on it, and in many ways Hazzard reminds me of where I grew up—so this is a sad occasion for me, though I look forward to seeing him down the line (1 Thes. 4:13–18).
