  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Did anyone see Whiteside destroy the Clippers last week?
He's been amazing and is now starting for the Heat who look pretty dangerous with a healthy squad.

So have the heat just struck gold or is he running hot?

Currently has 2nd highest PER of all centers in NBA although only 16 games at 24.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

PER is great but  why don't you tell people he is averaging 7 PPG  and 6 RPG for the year.  Brandon Wright had a great PER too, and I was rather meh about him.

He has been playing better lately, I think he has talent and is a gifted blocker.    That being said, I do not know if he will be a star.

I think any decent seven footer is going to do ok in the league.   I think it is due to so many small PFs and C.   Sully is only like 6-7.75 without shoes for instance.  There are not many true Centers out there.

I've seen this kid in action. He executes on the 'simple' things centers are supposed to do exceptionally well.  Runs the floor fast, catches pretty much every entry pass tossed at him, finishes strong, boxes out and rebounds really well, and bothers every shot within a yard of him.

I keep waiting for this kids luck to run out but he keeps filling up the box scores. His numbers in the last couple of months are all star numbers. Cs need have money availble for this kid when he becomes a free agent. Someone is going to pay him big bucks.

Last night box score:
20 points,24 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.

Hot streak, real deal or not dude's killing it lately and playing better is an understatement to what he has been doing, plus he is averaging 10 and 8 for the year with 2.5 blocks a game and a PER of 29.

In 2015 he's played 14 games and has averaged 14.1 points,  11 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game shooting roughly 66% from the field.

In his last 5 he's averaging 18 and 16 on 61% shooting.

Whatever he is doing it would be sweet to see him keep it up.

He looked human against Detroit.

So could it be with him, size does matter, looks great against small teams but against big humans he looks human.

This was yesterday and he was not killing it.  He looked decent, Drummond looked better.

I follow the NBA, so your Jedi mindtricks won't work on me.

I hope he gets a nice payday too.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
I keep expecting this to be like a big man version of Jeremy Lin but he seems pretty legit so far.  Just wish I'd grabbed him in fantasy  >:(

He had a double double with 5 blocks in 24 minutes.  It's not a jedi mind trick- he killed it in that game too.

He is the real deal but he is also on amazing hot streak. So far it seems that teams are having the same problem that they had with Lin. The lack of adequate scouting is allowing him to feast on unsuspecting teams.

However, he is a big man with elite length and amazing timing and unlike Lin's hot shooting, that's not going to drop off. The amount of money he will make in the future will depend on how well he does in the playoffs when teams scouting are on point.

Whiteside will be an All-Star in the near future - that kid is like crazy good

right size, great body, quick and showing great skill

don't see his recent success as a fluke after seeing him play against the Celtics - wish we could have him here - he would fill our needs at the center position in the years to come
