He needs to be in there over Prince, Prince is a good player he just doesn't belong here.

In a few weeks Prince will likely be gone via trade or buyout, and probably Thorton and Bass as well, so Young will get his chance.

I'm not sure he yet has the reputation around the league to make him effective as a decoy.  The decision not to play him after his poor performance against Philly, where he was terrible defensively, was a sound one.

good points. on young's defense, i have not watched him for a lot of minutes, but what i saw was a bit encouraging. he tries to play defense and puts in effort, which is the starting point. he was aware of his man even when that player did not have the ball. i take this as a good sign that he is mentally engaged on defense and trying to learn rotations, etc.

but, i saw him get beat repeatedly in two ways:

1. young has trouble playing through picks. his man seemed to get a 1/2 step ahead of young and then use a pick to brush young off. young did not fight through the picks well when i watched.

2. other players were simply stronger and plowed through him. young did not have the strength to stop someone driving to the basket or getting position.

so, i think young can be an adequate to ok defender. he needs to learn more technique and certainly needs to add muscle. but he is young (  ;) ) and can do both.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
