This is pretty bad for Brooklyn, because he was a main, sharp-shooting big off of the bench.

The Hawks are going to be the best team in the East, and they're going to end up with a lottery pick.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Teletovic retires, Brooklyn wipes his salary from the books using the "career-ending injury" clause in the CBA and saves 8.25M in luxury tax.  Teletovic heads home to play overseas.  Win win.

KG or Lopez is next.

Yeah, that's not how it will work.  If he can recover to resume his career, Nets are better off keeping his Bird rights and re-signing him in the future.

I really like him and was hoping we were getting him as part of the Pierce/KG trade.  That sucks and my hearts out to Nets fans, because he is probably the most watchable player on that team

This reminds me of when Michael Corleone had to settle some family business and go to Sicily for a while.  I can hear Prokhorov:

"Mirza.  I need a favor.  You're going to see a doctor.  He's going to give you some bad news.  You go home.  I don't know how long... 1 year, maybe 2.  Spend time with your family.  Get healthy.  Maybe in 2 years your jump shot comes back.  You understand?"

The team is for sale.  You think Prokhorov cares more about re-signing a wounded Teletovic than putting 10M in his pocket on the way out the door?

That's fine and all, but it's highly unlikely Nets will be granted relief this year.

It would be difficult to make a case for cap relief, unless he's forced to retire.  As fate would have it, the man has blood clots in his lungs.

I'm surprised Prokhorov didn't Petrovic him.

 ;)

That´s awful. My friend died because of a bloodclot that traveled from his leg to his heart.

Oh, c'mon.  I hope it's clear that I'm joking at Prokhorov's expense.  I wish Mirza a speedy recovery.

Sorry, I wasn´t referring to your post. I was just commenting on Teletovic´s health problem.

E. Now that I read your post, I think that your Drazen Petrovic pun was tacky. NBA would be better today if Petrovic would have been able to stay alive and finish his basketball career.

Oh, sorry here too.  I misunderstood.  People can be sensitive about these things, and understandably so if you've lost a friend.  Sorry for your loss.
