Ok so I'm a huge pessimist and also very superstitious.  So right now I'm operating under the assumption that we'll all be disappointed after the draft lottery (and also if we go into the lottery expecting to be disappointed, we'll probably be pleasantly surprised.)

Anyway, to the point, I was just reading about some prospects in college right now that are projected to be outside of the top 4, since thats where we'll be picking, and came across Trey Lyles bio.  This is NBAdraft.net so I already know to take everything with a grain of salt, but they have this guy pegged as a 6'10" PF that can hit midrange jumpers and has some polished moves in the post.  They also talk about how he has great on the ball defense.  Sounds great to me, I'm tired of undersized PFs and finesse big men on this team.

So I was wondering if anyone that follows college basketball, and more specifically Kentucky, can tell me more about this guy.  They have him getting picked at #8 so theres gotta be some kind of drawback to this guy, and I was wondering if some folks could shed some light on all this.

Please dont answer with highlight videos.

draftexpress has him in their 2016 mock draft at #14. here is his profile there.

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Trey-Lyles-7157/

Strengths:
-Good size and strong frame
-Exceptionally skilled big man
-Can score one on one inside the post. Has very good footwork, soft touch and is very adept at making turnaround jumpers
-Can create his own shot from the perimeter
-Handles the ball in open floor and passes on the move
-Can make an open 3-pointer.
-Possesses an excellent basketball IQ.
-Terrific passer

Weaknesses:
-Average athlete in terms of quickness and explosiveness
-Conditioning has fallen off significantly. Did not look in shape at all
-Average defender. Somewhat stuck between positions defensively
-Lacks the lateral quickness or intensity needed to guard skilled power forwards on the perimeter
-Not enough of a rim protector to anchor the defense as a center
-Does not step out on the pick and roll

Outlook: Extremely fluid and agile big man with a terrific blend of power and finesse. Should develop into a very effective scorer. Has plenty of room to develop on the other end of the floor. Must improve his conditioning level.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
