Zeller is a better center than Olynyk.

Zeller should be starting.

I would like to see a starting unit of Rondo, Turner, Green, Sullinger, and Zeller.

No, he didn't lose his starting gig and shouldn't.

After they review the tape, some of the guards might want to try and stay in front of their men so that the bigs don't have to come over and help them every time they get burnt on the outside.

Rondo was the culprit last night for the majority but geeesh.  Stay in front of your man please !  2 ticky tack fouls taking Olynyk out last night were due to guards getting completely torched and blown by on the outside.

2 things I see that might support this argument. Coming into the league you could argue that Zeller was considered a better prospect than KO and while Zeller operates well with Rondo and KO can probably produce similar production playing with the second unit.

The players are very close I think this could be a rare case where moving Kelly to the bench would not be an indictment on his ability.

You are comparing apples to oranges.

Your apples to oranges comment makes a ton of sense, but probably in another way you weren't even thinking about:

TZeller is a true Center
KO is really a pass first Point Guard in a seven footers body!

I donit know there both 7 footers vying for the same spot but with different approaches. I feel like im more comparing Fuji Apples to Red Delicious .

Lots of good points made here.  I'm in agreement with many different posts.  My thought is that the team might be more balanced as zeller will benefit more from playing with rondo and the second unit will benefit more from playing with KO.  could be a win win for team
I don't think kelly has lost the job but it might be something to look at….same could be said for a healthy smart over bradley

Let's try starting Hassan Whiteside (and no, I'm not being the least bit sarcastic here).

I know I, amongst many here on CB, have been hoping for more minutes for TZeller.  Well, last nite he got them, and he sure made the most of them!  He's never gonna be an all star, but he just plays the game hard and the right way.  He's got great hands and is incredible at scoring once he gets the ball inside!  He's also a very good passer.  Don't know if I've ever even seen him take a jump shot, and his perimeter offense will never come close to KOs', but I'll take what he gave last night, every night!
I don't know what everyone else thought, but despite KO's foul trouble, I had the feeling BS was a little PO'd at Kelly last night!  The guy just won't shoot the ball!  It's like a riddle: What do you call a great shooter that won't shoot!?  We can get anyone to stand out there and just pass the ball as soon as they catch it!
Maybe if Kelly comes off the bench, it'll keep him out of early foul trouble so much.  That should help, but I don't know what to do about his reluctance to shoot!
Thoughts?

Zeller was good in this game. Olynyk was every bit as good as that the game before against the Cavs. One game won't decide who starts and who doesn't.

KO is no center.  He is a offensive dominate player .   He is a good Power Forward .

Zeller should be center with Sully and KO playing equal time at four .

He would be such a good Lamar Odom style 6th man, I don't really care if he starts or not.  What would be best for the team is getting a decent actual center, so we can put him on the bench without making him lose face.

Something like this:

____________________

Rondo
Bradley
Carmelo (or some other player that can command a double team that is somewhat available)
Sully
Defensive Center That Can Score TBD (hard to get)

6th man: KO

Rest of bench: Smart, Young, Zeller, Bass

Get rid of: Wallace, Thorton, Green, Turner, Vitor Invisible

____________________

Would make us actual contenders in the East this season.  Granted, easier said than done, but my point is that Rondo, Bradley, KO, Sully, Young, Smart, Bass and Zeller could all be useful players on a legitimate team right now.

not yet but if zeller continues to play like this and kelly continues to use the pump fake then a switch would be good

KO had a terrible 13 or so minutes of defense, no doubt. I was screaming that they need to get him going early on offense, it didn't look as if they even tried. When he gets his offense (shot) going, he plays better on both ends but he just isn't a defender no matter what.

The point I really want to get across, KO defended terrible but he played so few minutes, the Morris twin had 30pts, it's obvious someone else besides KO was playing some pretty bad defense too... unless KO gave up 30pts in 13 minutes. 0.0

One more point, this board is so wishy washy... every other game you have nothing to say about a player but as soon as they have an off game (like EVERY PLAYER in the league), threads pop up about how much they suck. If you don't say they suck, you want them coming off the bench. Zeller is a prime example, many people were saying he sucks just last week. Now, he's a great player. KO was great just last week, now he needs to come off the bench. Sure, there were a few people saying start Z before last game but they rarely opened their mouth about it when KO was playing well.

Next week, there will be 5 threads on why Bass should start as soon as he has a good game. I'll continue to laugh at some of these threads and I hope you guys keep making them... it's very entertaining.

I wonder if Stevens has orders from Ainge to start Olynyk.

I suspected Ainge of intentionally not acquiring a good backup PG to force Doc to play Rondo and I wonder if some of the issues with roster construction come from Ainge wanting to make it impossible for Stevens to avoid playing Sullinger and Olynyk.

Maybe the reactions to Zeller are proportional to the shock of actually seeing him play pretty well more than anything else, especially after his play in the preseason where he looked like he wouldn't have even been able to ride the bench on a jv high school team lol ;D.  I mean, sure, he's okay, and I've been pleasantly surprised with his passing and post moves, but perhaps people are saying such things about him because of just how bad our interior defense is right now, if we even have one haha ;D.  Rondo is also making him look much better than he probably is, anyway, but that's to be expected ;D.
