This offense looks great (like a bunch of baby spurs)... so I like that side as the roster stands.

However, what is happening with this defense? Avery's looking more vulnerable than I can remember and our big men have no chance in pick'n'roll defense.

in 4 games... 109 points allowed average.

Kelly Olynyk is the team's rim protector.   I love Oly, but he's a scoring PF being asked the man the middle.  This roster is problematic.

maybe, but it's not like we've been dominated at the rim either. Dwight's only put up 14 and Dirk was a jumpshot assassin to put up 27

Beating a dead horse... We all know we have no rim protection.  This kind of roster and play style is intended to maximize player value while generating high draft pick.

Yep dead horse. Defense is going to be a problem until the Celtics land a defensive big man. Once that guy is here the guards will have protection again. It's not a coincidence that Bradley looked better on defense when Kevin Garnett was here.

Rim protection is obviously an issue but don't lose sight of the fact that we haven't looked particularly good in any area of defense.  The only real exceptions have been a few frenetic stretches in the Nets and Mavs games.  It's a top-to-bottom problem even though some areas are worse than others.

We've also been playing against 3 of the top 5 offensive teams in the game, so some struggling should be expected... not that it hasn't been disappointing so far, particularly Olynyk's non-improvement.
