Tons of coverage from ESPN on the NBA today and I'm sure in the coming days for obvious reasons.

As I was sifting through the slew of articles and prediction panels (too many to read them all), I picked up on Sullinger's name a few times.

He was mentioned here by two non-Boston writers (Tom Haberstroh and Kevin Arnovitz) as their pick to win the Most Improved Player of the Year award: http://espn.go.com/nba/notebook/_/page/MIP1415/2014-15-most-improved-player

Sully was also briefly highlighted in this piece by Kevin Pelton. Under "News and Notes" near the bottom of the piece, there is a ranking block that lists the preseason WARP leaders. Sullinger shocked me, coming in third: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/11772181/nba-five-bold-predictions-numbers

For those that don't have Insider, the list consisted of, in order: Gordon Hayward, Chris Paul, Sullinger, Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler, Trey Burke, Kyle Lowry and Greg Monroe.

It is only preseason, and some notable names (LeBron and Kevin Durant, among others, immediately come to mind) that would normally be found on such a list are missing. Still, some promising company for Sullinger to find himself in.

Anyways, just food for thought (which is a subtle way of saying that I will have failed myself as a human being if this thread hasn't led to all-out war within the next 15 minutes).

He was really good in preseason.  I hope he can keep it up.

Wouldnt it be nice if Sully and K.O. were 1st and 2nd in the most improved player of the year, and Smart wins the Rookie of the Year Award.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

It would take someone else making a pretty big leap to beat him if he keeps up his pre season play.  We have all had the "he could be Kevin Love esque" comments over the last couple years and in the pre season it actually was what he was playing like out there.  Not the best competition but I still really loved what I saw.

don't forget about James young . I have a good feeling he's more than just a shooter. And I think he's gonna be one hell of a shooter.

I think Smart could definitely have the best all around rookie year (I think there's a very good chance of that actually) but I don't think his numbers will be as appealing as Jabari's who are bound to look  pretty good even if he plays zero defense.  They won't care about that.  They never do.

Agree.   I have high hope since not all his stats came in garbage him but I think his shooting with be a little worse.
