This article is garbage from a rumor stabdpoint and that's a good thing.

It's not really a rumor.  It's just pointing out that the Celtics have 18 players, counting Evan Turner, and need to be at 15 by the start of the season, so if there is no trade, it seems almost certain that Bogans, Johnson, and Babb are going to be waived before the first game.

I'd like to know how the Celtics Roster became so swelled up to being with? Considering that Humphries just went to Washington that would have made 19 players on the roster.

Rookies and trades using the traded players exception.

As much as I like Phil Pressey, if I were Danny Ainge, I'd have to think hard on whether letting go of Bogans' 5.3M of tradable salary cash relief was less painful than just eating Phil's 816K salary.

Bogan's salary does not become vested until January 7th.  There are likely going to be real opportunities to make trades between now and then where having that contract could be very valuable.   It would be a shame to just 'cut' him now.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I agree that cutting Bogans should be a last possible resort.

Not sure if anyone has brought this up before, but I wonder if Joel Anthony might be used to bring back Evan Turner. Anthony plus the non-guaranteed contracts of Johnson and Babb ought to match an MLE-sized contract for Turner.

I imagine Ainge will at least find somebody to trade with so we can create a TPE. This would just be a favor from another team as they would just cut him immediately.

It's too bad he wasn't included as part of the Humphries deal - we would have created a much bigger TPE.
