I take it Doc doesn't think Rondo's a max player?

How else does one interpret:

"I do talk to Rondo. I don't get into [his contract] because that's an uncomfortable area for me and him, probably. So we don't even touch that. I just think that he's in a good frame of mind; that's all that counts."

It could be an uncomfortable area because Doc is a coach and president of basketball operations for a NBA team that Rondo doesn't play for. If I'm the coach of the Syracuse Nationals, and I tell a player from the Kansas City Kings that he shouldn't accept a dollar less than a max contract, that's tampering.

What? LOL..it's uncomfortable because of the position that he's in..President and coach of another team. C'mon now  ::) . He also said that Rondo's going to be great this year

What I gathered from all that is that Doc is a God fearing individual who likes to go to the movies on the weekends with his family, and sometimes... only sometimes, he indulges on one Virgin Piña Colada and that he thinks Rondo looks hot without a t-shirt on.

i dont think rondo is a max contract guy.  he is very good, but not great imo
