I've always been a huge fan of Delonte West. There was something about him that reminded me of Pierce, Rondo, and Garnett. His energy, and his determination to put his body on the line. I think hes been painted as a bad picture of all the time, and it reminds me of how much flack DeMarcus Cousins gets.

When he did get caught for possessions of fire arms, I was a little disappointed. Not because of what he did, but because I knew someone like West was better than this. I didn't know he had bi-polar, and neither did he; until he found out the full diagnosis. I'm glad he went to the CBA, it really seemed to give him the motivation to set his life back together.

I think having a family, someone that really cares about who he is, and not beyond the facade of his outside will help push him to further his goals. I believe in him, and I believe for any contender needing a back up PG, that Delonte West can be the man. He can still play.

Did you read that great slate article on West a few months ago?

Refresh  my memory with a link please, but I'm pretty sure I did, and posted (?) that one up too.

I'll always love Delonte.  After Big Al, he was the guy I really didn't want to see traded.  On those Cleveland teams, it wasn't only Lebron who worried me at the end of games (and Gibson, although he didn't play that much), it was Delonte.  He will take and make a ton of huge shots in the most pressure-packed moments of the biggest games.  It was great seeing him in green again, and I never understood why he wasn't resigned for 11-12.

Regardless, he'll always be a fan favorite, and it seems like Doc will always have a soft spot for him.  He'd make a great backup for Chris Paul, imo.  It's great to see that things are coming together for him.  Good luck, Delonte!  I had no idea that he had become a father, btw.

we should just sign him. we need more guards.

I hope he plays again either way though. unfortunately it looks like LeBron got him black-balled.

This.  Would love to see him get another chance.  It would give me a team to root for, for the short term.  I am still finding it very difficult to accept the Celtics lack of loyalty.  And please don't give me that garbage about it being the name on the front of the jersey, not the back.  It is both.
