Kyrie and other point guards will have a nightmare with the C's back court.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
I think Smart will prove himself very worthy of his pick. Randle may have a few better years but Smart will have the better career.
"People look at players, watch them dribble between their legs and they say, 'There's a superstar.'  Well John Havlicek is a superstar, and most of the others are figments of writers' imagination."

  • Celtic's only raise championship Banners
Smart loves to play basketball. I mean do you know how rare that is, it seems simple but it is not. Most of these guys look at it as a biz but Smart wants to be the best he can. So I know he will improve his shot and anything else he wants to.

Whether he will be great remains to be seen but he has that love of measuring himself against others and  proving himself against others that the really good greats have.

If Marcus Smart were 6'10" in bare feet with 9'4" standing reach and a 7'5" wingspan, he'd be even more awesome. But alas, we'll take him as is.

  • No no no, not THAT "Eric M Van".
Totally gut feeling note:

Most of us have played some organized form of Bball and there are archtypes we either fall under or have played against.

Smart seems like that guy who played Running back or Linebacker both ways on the football team that would occasionally pick up the Bball during the off season and just bull doze the competition with his physical attributes. He'll see passing lanes and close them down before we'd even realize they were there and we'd think we had a path to a rebound until that big football ass knocked us over....played against this guy many times

That's not a put down, he's a tremendously talented player who, many of us think, is getting short shrift because he "hung around" one too many years in college. I really believe this guy could end up being the most or second most NBA ready rook this year and still has that upside  offensively at least all the kids rave about. I think he'll be non box score great and find a way to fit in no matter who he plays with.

The flip side of the coin is James Young who just looks like a Basketball player we've been up against. He's just so loosey goosey and built like a Bball player. I have no idea what his motor is like but it looks like this game just comes easy to him. Will natural talent be enough to trump a hard worker (and IS he  a hard worker?) . Probably not at this level but I love his enthusiasm and can't wait to see him in an NBA setting.

"Because there are no fours."

"We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees."
