League clarifies rules on trades

According to ShamSports, the league sent out a memo to teams at the end of the July moratorium, clarifying rules.

Part one clarifies the minimum compensation you have to give another team.  It now requires that if you send out a player's draft rights, there has to be a "reasonable" chance that the player might play in the NBA one day.

Part two of the memo can be called the Doc Rivers rule, as it covers trades of non-playing personnnel.  Teams can't do a trade involving players for a year (or until the season is over, if the first trade occurs during the off-season).

And Part 1 may be called the LeBron James rule, since the consideration NJ sent to the Cavs included two practically retired players.
