And signing him to a  2 or 3 year 9 million/yr contract.

How?

go over the cap a little. Wyc can't be a cheap azz if he wants to start winning soon

With Gasol we should be able to make 7th at worse.

The Celtics can't offer anyone more than the MLE at this point.

can you explain.  We are at 56 and isn't the max cap at 63.  ?

Are you including the cap holds for first round draft picks?

maybe not. Can we use the amnesty clause on Wallace??

I can't believe our team cant' sign 1 decent FA still

Celtics have the MLE. More importantly, they have non-guaranteed contracts, the TPE, and Bird Rights.

Trades, including sign and trades, are Ainge's means to improve the roster. Free agency is, and always has been, about using cap space to overpay for players.

I want Ainge to give Emeka Okafor a one year deal (if he can pass medical).

Okafor missed all of last season but he was good the year before for Washington. His shot-blocking and defensive presence would be brilliant for Boston.

Same here.  Gasol can never be a Celtic - he's a Laker for crying out loud.  We don't need any whiny types here, either.  Pau belongs on a contender like Miami, San Antonio, or perhaps even Memphis, where he can come off the bench and be that Walton-type reserve (although I would never compare those two.  It would be an insult to Bill.) with his passing and post game (if he ever plays inside again, lol).  I suppose that you could add shot-blocking to that list, but unless going somewhere else radically rejuvenates him, Pau has never struck me as a guy who likes to play defense.  He's not a liability, certainly, but he just never seemed really 'into it' on that end of the court, imo.

Bottom line - there's no place for him on a rebuilding team like ours.

Forget how, Im trying to think "why" would Gasol wanna come to Boston? He got a taste  of 2 chips and  got top teams requesting him while hes declining out of his prime. Hes  not  playing anywhere he gotta wit for a rebuild As much as I love him,, I doubt he's interested.

If Riley gets Gasol to South Beach with their faux big three,  barring any injuries you might just as well plan their victory parade for next June.

Pau Gasol to Miami is just like Ray Allen to Miami.

Lakers can get a taste of how many of the Celtics fans felt when that infamous future HOFer jumped ship lol.
