I bench KG. I make him the backup center.

I also look to improve team quickness so I look for quicker forwards and guards. Consequently, I let Blatche leave in free agency. I also make Plumlee available in a trade. No playing time for either player if KG is backup center.

I would also bench Paul Pierce. A perimeter trio of Pierce, JJ and Deron is too slow. And Pierce isn't effective enough as a defender/rebounder at the PF position to play there. He puts too much pressure on the team's center and neither B.Lopez or KG is capable of handling that type of responsibility (in terms of defense & rebounding). So, I would start Deron and JJ and a role player with defensive quickness who can shoot alongside them.

Adding a quality power forward is main priority.
A wing with defensive quickness and a jump-shot second priority.

Then to a lesser degree, a backup PF who can shoot -- no more big men in their rotation who cannot make a jump-shot -- as well as a backup PG.

Marcus Thornton also available in a trade. No need for another gunner on that team. They have enough guys who want to take a large number of shot attempts in Brook Lopez, Deron, JJ and Paul Pierce.

For Kirilenko, Brooklyn need to hope for the best but plan for the worst. AK-47 was so bad last year that Brooklyn cannot depend on him to fill a rotation spot. Third stringer.

the thing is, will kg and pierce accept a bench role or.... will j-kidd bench both veterans?
and lastly trade plumlee? nets say no... if i have kelly with kg on our team, i would say no too, we need to develop this guys with kg, maybe even faverani will pan out

(1) I think Garnett would accept a bench role. Pierce is a free agent though so he may choose not to resign due to bench role and join a different instead that was willing to give him a starting job. If that is the case, so be it. Then Brooklyn can keep Marcus Thornton as bench scorer.

(2) Plumlee is a one position player (center) due to his low skill-level offensively (cannot make a shot outside of 5 feet). Already 24 years old so old for a rookie. Considered a role player with low upside. Then add in the fact that the position Plumlee plays (center) is the same position as Brook Lopez - an All-Star 20ppg player. Plumlee is expendable.

If you can get something useful that better balances your team for Plumlee, you do it.

I was thinking that Avery Bradley would be a very nice fit on that Brooklyn team.

Elite quickness, high level defender and a guy who can operate on a low number of touches and shots on the offensive end. Deron Williams is a nice big bodied PG who can switch onto SGs so Avery and Deron can be interchangeable on defense.

However, the Nets probably can't afford Bradley outright so they would likely need a sign and trade. I was thinking they don't have much to offer since they've already given up a bunch of picks to the Celtics already. But after writing above reply, I got to thinking that a sign and trade based around Bradley for Plumlee could make good amount of sense for both teams. They would probably need to use Kirilenko or Teletovic as makeweight contract to make the financial numbers work.

Brooklyn gets the quick defensive minded two guard they need. Boston gets a useful big man who can start at center next season. I think that could be beneficial for both teams.

with blathe and collins gone, evans traded, kg limitted minutes, brook's health issue, i don't think plumlee is going anywhere after showing some sign of improvements,
if ainge want we can have some big from cleveland zeller or varejao or sign pachullia or kaman
but if the nets acquired 1 more big for insurance health issues, i still don't think plumlee is going anywhere, i think with kg staying peirce will definitely stay too

i think they need bradley too, but if brown does great, thorton can be traded, specially if anderson or livingston, one of them stays
