(2) Plumlee is a one position player (center) due to his low skill-level offensively (cannot make a shot outside of 5 feet). Already 24 years old so old for a rookie. Considered a role player with low upside. Then add in the fact that the position Plumlee plays (center) is the same position as Brook Lopez - an All-Star 20ppg player. Plumlee is expendable.
If you can get something useful that better balances your team for Plumlee, you do it.
I was thinking that Avery Bradley would be a very nice fit on that Brooklyn team.
Elite quickness, high level defender and a guy who can operate on a low number of touches and shots on the offensive end. Deron Williams is a nice big bodied PG who can switch onto SGs so Avery and Deron can be interchangeable on defense.
However, the Nets probably can't afford Bradley outright so they would likely need a sign and trade. I was thinking they don't have much to offer since they've already given up a bunch of picks to the Celtics already. But after writing above reply, I got to thinking that a sign and trade based around Bradley for Plumlee could make good amount of sense for both teams. They would probably need to use Kirilenko or Teletovic as makeweight contract to make the financial numbers work.
Brooklyn gets the quick defensive minded two guard they need. Boston gets a useful big man who can start at center next season. I think that could be beneficial for both teams.
with blathe and collins gone, evans traded, kg limitted minutes, brook's health issue, i don't think plumlee is going anywhere after showing some sign of improvements,
if ainge want we can have some big from cleveland zeller or varejao or sign pachullia or kaman
but if the nets acquired 1 more big for insurance health issues, i still don't think plumlee is going anywhere, i think with kg staying peirce will definitely stay too
i think they need bradley too, but if brown does great, thorton can be traded, specially if anderson or livingston, one of them stays
