Great Draft by Danny. I wasn't in love with the Smart pick because I felt like it lacked the home run potential, but now that we have that with Young I'm satisfied. Smart is a guaranteed starter potential border-line star and Young could be a poor man's Pierce (borderline star).

Poor man's Joe Johnson. And that is a complement for a guy picked at 17.

Woah, woah, slow down there, speed racer haha.  Does Young have a great handle and ability to create his own shot like Joe?  JJ is also an excellent passer and playmaker.  I'm not sure that Young is there - at least, not yet (hopefully).

Going to have to educate myself about him, but right now I'm mildly excited about him. Sounds like he has a lot of upside.

This article has a quote from a couple days ago that just made me fall in love with this pick:

Young said that when he declared for the draft, he figured he would be a top-10 pick. That's still possible, but most analysts say he's more likely to fall somewhere in the 10-25 range. He said he still would be blessed to be selected there, but he also would remember the franchises that passed on him.

"Whatever teams that don't pick me, I'll see them in the regular season," he said, "and I'll just go at them."

That is what I want to hear!

I like both our picks. FInally a big shooting guard who can shoot.

Smart, Young, Green, Olynyk, and Sullinger.

I look forward to seeing them play together.

Agreed. Was upset we missed on Exum, but for what was available, I think we got the best players that were there.

Not a bad little core.

I see Smart as a potential steal, and Young just plain out excites me about his potential, and the way his game will translate to the pros.
Truuuuuuuuuth!
