I think Philly is clearly drafting assets at no concern for current team chemistry. I think Danny is drafting for what my team needs now, we did really need a new back court, I agree. I also think we could have yielded better assets, mainly Vonleh. But I do like both picks. I've always been high on James Young. And Smart was unreal for parts of this season. 18,6,5, and 3 steals for Smart. Wow.

marcus smart was the best available player. we would have taken vonleh if it was need. Smart is an absolute beast and cant wait to see smart/young backcourt of our future.

for the 17th pick, young was easily the best player available again. it just so happened we need a nice shooting 2. that worked out perfect.

Hopefully picking Fab Melo was the bottom and Ainge has since been on the upswing.  Fab Melo.

How did the celts draft for need?? We really needed more talent upfront.

Not a balanced looking draft but ainge took the bpa.

The celtics got best players available. They also just so happened to fit some needs.

A killer combo guard, and a big shooting wing. Both guys are going to make their mark on both ends of the court.

The big hole continues at center. But free agency is just a couple weeks away.

I'm jealous of Philly fans.  They'll be slightly worse than us next year, but in 5 years they'll be dominating the league while we continue to putter away as a 25-45 win team.

As currently constructed, the team could be a very good rebounding team. Almost all positions have players who rebound well.

Except for the fact we do not have a center.  I guess we'll pick one up in next year's draft.

Clearly we drafted the best player available, and not drafted for need.

Ainge was drafting BPA.  They just happened to be guys that also filled glaring needs for the Celtics; scoring.

BPA on #6, potential on #17, the way it's supposed to be done.
