Parker would be a great choice. More talented than Wiggins, more ready to produce, and would be an excellent fit with Kyrie Irving and Waiters.

Good. Let Embiid slide.

this embiid injury is going to screw up the whole draft.

only way I would consider drafting embiid is if he was there at 17. 6 is too high on a guy that was already a project, already an injury risk and now has another injury that could potentially ruin his chances of ever playing again. way too high, the likelihood that this guy is a bust is pretty high.

I think Ainge is gunning for Embiid. Stating that the celtics doctors had told them to pass on many players including Oden and Roy, and then Austin Ainge stating the celtics would have taken Durant in 2007, after years of never answering who Ainge would have taken had we won the lottery, is basically dropping smokescreens to let Embiid fall to us in imo.

Not more talented than Wiggins and not ready to play defense in the NBA. It's a safe pick though ;)

Actually Doc Rivers made this same statement last year about knowing we'd select Durant.  I think Austin is letting people know that we are willing to take a risk but we don't recklessly discount a doctors opinion.

I don't know about Embiid because as much as I like homeruns, it's just as easy to strike out

on what planet does embiid fall to 17? to win in the NBA you have to take risks.

He won't. If Embiid is there at 6, we have to take him, and if he's not, we should trade up to 4 or 5 to draft him. Extremely talented centers don't come along too often, and his injuries are bad signs, but are not incurable conditions. As Ainge said a few weeks ago, you have to take chances to win.

While obviously I see the offensive fit, I feel like Cleveland needs to get Wiggins for his perimeter defense. I also feel like Wiggins would fit better in Cleveland because he doesn't have to be the #1 option.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Parker weighed in at 254 pounds with 11 percent body fat according to Chad Ford in a workout with Milwaukee.  I find this positive news because it means, if pictures and general expectation showing that he slimmed down are true, that he played his freshman season at 260 pounds or above.  What I found really troubling about Parker was how much his athleticism was affected by being out of shape.  In 2008, Pierce was doughier than he was in subsequent seasons but it didn't affect his athleticism.  For Parker to lose his first step and explosiveness at 19 years old, that was troubling.  However, I thought he was like 245 pounds or so with a lot of back fat.  If he was around 260, it would make his reduced athleticism more understandable.

Parker at 240 pounds could be a really fine athlete.  With his skill level, that would give him an All-NBA ceiling.

if he was there at 17. I hope Orlando or Utah take him. they can deal with that waste of a pick that high.

Lol. Aaron Gordon would be a wasted pick. If Embiid is there - or if we trade to 4 for him, it's because McKeon cleared him with Ainge.

Did those same doctors okay the idea of signing Jermaine O'Neal as a free agent?
