Would it make more sense for the Wolves to wait till after the rookie league to make the trade so they have a better sense of what they're getting?
Most rookies will sign by SL, and that's a whole different type of trade as opposed to trading for the "rights of" (or for a pick).
"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

No because the rookie they want could be with a team who is not a potential trading partner. If they make the trade before the draft they get to dictate who is taken at that slot.

That assumes that the team with the player they want will trade with them and also that the team won't decide to keep the player.

I don't trust anything the local beat writers say when it comes to what the Celtics are going to do. They are constantly wrong. Ainge does a great job of keeping them in the dark. The only one I trust is Jackie Mac and say what you want about Bill Simmons, but when it comes to the Celtics he has very good industry sources. I don't trust a word of what Bulpett says.

Celtics' offers for Love not drawing Minnesota's affection

http://bostonherald.com/sports/celtics_nba/celtics_insider/2014/06/celtics_offers_for_love_not_drawing_minnesotas_affection

The interesting thing about this is you keep hearing that Minny isn't that excited about the Celt's offer, but there seems to be a lot less noise about Minny being unhappy with the offers from other teams.

Chad Ford's 1PM chat today:

"I was told by a good source in Minnesota that as of Monday, the Celtics had the best offer on the table and were the favorites to land Love. I think Bill Simmons reported something similar today. I know the Boston Herald just said the opposite -- that the Warriors and Nuggets had made better offers. But I'm skeptical. The Warriors won't include Klay Thompson (at least not yet). And the Nuggets? They have the 11th pick. They have Kenneth Faried. But what else? Gallinari? Hickson? I don't think that's a better offer than the Celtics."

Yeah leak is clearly Minnesota trying to reinforce their demands of:

1. Lottery pick this year and future picks.
2. Established NBA talent
3. Cap relief

I doubt they're getting all 3 but they keep "leaking" that they've got these other great offers that no one else has heard yet that gives them all three.

Denver is interesting, not sure what they'd want from them other than the pick. Depends if they like Faried/Gallo/McGee and value them highly.
Thinking about the various trades being bandied about, it appears that 1 and 2 are mutually exclusive.

As far as Bulpett's article, I can't imagine what DEN could offer that makes sense and keeping Love is stupid.

Yup.  What is and isn't being put out there is speaking volumes about the actual state of the offers Minnesota's getting.

I want Love and if we don't get him I expect Rondo to be gone.  But I don't want to overpay for Love either.  I'm glad we have DA.

Was just tweeted about a half hour ago:

If TWolves trade Love, Celts are heavy favs to get him now. GS won't discuss Klay T. + Bulls are focused on Melo. Boston trumps anyone else.

Thoughts?

So much for not discussing Thompson. Love to GS :-(

It's far from done.
