Im becoming increasingly intrigued by our draft prospects and maybe we dont need to throw away all our assets for Love (ofcourse id rather have him, but if we cant it moght not be the end of the world!!) and if we become a playoff threat i think Love would def consider us in FA and we might have the cap space to offer him and Rondo mega contracts if we can get Wallace of the books (he'll be an expiring that summer) anyways back to the thread of we dont get Love why not just draft Aaron Gordon at 6, Porzingis at 17 and make a hard run at a FA (hayward, and bring back AB) we could still use the TPE for Asik or if Houston refuse we can gamble on Sanders or just get any young intriguing prospect (Gobert, Stiemsma, etc)
Our roster would then look like:
PG: Rondo, Pressey, (Bayless)
SG: Hawyard, AB, CJ
SF: Gordon, JG, Wallace
PF: Sully, KO, Bass
C: Asik/Sanders, Porzingis, (Iverson)

Really like that the outlook of that team and it could make a surprising run in the playoffs.. Maybe a #6 seed is a realistic scenario and if we impress then Kevin Love would consider coming here as a FA without us having to lose all our assets... Maybe then we could flip Sully or KO for a quality bench player...

I think this team would be picking in the mid teens to low teens and not get anything in terms of a title and be mired in perpetual mediocrity.

Are we giving up all our picks to acquire Asik/Sanders/Hayward?

I'm not sure how we could be mired in perpetual mediocrity if the Nets end up being bad and give us a loto pick or two. I think the extra picks in addition to the middle pick a late playoff seed would give us combined with the youth on our team is enough to make sure we are continually improving.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Porzi... who?? Isn't he the 7 footer who averages less than 3rpg?
I really like your idea of keeping our picks & trading the tpe for a center but don't take him at #17. We can have better, think about TJ Warren &  Hairston.

Exactly... Haywards a FA and Asik could be acquired for just the TPE and maybe a clips pick... And the Nets picks would give us a few top 10 picks to continue to stay young and be more then relevant for decades...

Hes young and still developing and played like 15mpg so im sure he couldve done a lot more... He just needs to fill up his frame a little more and he could become a serious threat.. Besides hes got the length and athleticism to become an elite shot blocker in a few years.. But u could always go after someone such as Payton or Hairston... I dont wanna see Warren in this scenario cuz we would have a logjam at the 3... But overall i agree that Porzingis is a risky project..

We certainly have a "grow from within" option with so many players and upcoming picks, along with our steady veterans, that I think if we simply balanced the roster with a solid starting center and bring it back with Rondo healthy, we'd be a playoff team.

Really.

Rondo+Bradley are proven title contender backcourt, after all, and Sully+[Gortat/Asik/Okafor] control the boards, with Green's good D on the perimeter makes the team above average on D, easily.

Playoffs would come down to what offense they run with Rondo, and if they can score.  If he can set the table, we've seen Bradley, Green, Bass, and Sully finish plays.

Still need a big fish, but cap space isn't far away.

I might be wrong, but I don't think that team is good enough.

I think you need a little more offense (imo.)
