It's been reported that Minnesota may want veteran players to try and win now verses a package of younger players/draft picks in a deal for Love(probably not the smartest thing for them).   Especially with Saunders now also the coach he might want a win now type of approach.  What if there is a team out that is looking to hit the reset button, and would prefer that type of young players/draft picks package we could include a in 3 team deal.

Can you think of any trades like this?

I'll start off with Denver who was 36-46 last year, and seem to be stuck in the middle.   With McGee's and Gallinari's contract (missed all of last year) they don't have a ton of flexibility.   Faried will be up for a new contract next year I believe.  Will they pay him?  Let's say they don't want to start over.

This works in the trade machine.

Going to Minnesota:

Faried age 24- actually blew up after the all star break averaging 18.8 PPG, 10.1 RPG shooting .546 from the field.
Jeff Green - We know about him
Ty Lawson age 26- fringe all star. averaged 17.6 PPG and 8.8 APG last year.  Maybe it's time for Denver to sell high on both these guys.
Maybe a future first round pick from Boston-not even sure the deserve it in this deal.

It gives Minnesota a young veteran starting core of

Lawson
Martin
Green
Faried
Pekovic

While downgrading obviously at PF, Faried is athletic and maybe a better fit next to Pekovic, and they upgrade at SF and PG.

Going to Boston:
Love- no explanation needed

Going to Denver:

Sullinger
Bogan's contract
Rubio still only age 23 but has been disappointing not improving.
Muhammad age 21- someone to take a chance on.
6th pick

This will make Denver worse next year but maybe that should be the plan getting a top pick next year, while also having the 6th pick this year and their own 11th pick.

What do you guys have for a 3 team deal with Boston landing Love, and helping Minnesota compete for a playoff spot next year?

I posted a trade where the Wolves received Tyreke Evans, Jared Sullinger and the 6 pick, the Pelicans received Kevin Martin, Brandon Bass and any other picks they needed, and the Cs got Kevin Love.  I think it'd clear up New Orleans cap sheet and give them some more depth, the Wolves would replace a lot of Love's rebounding with Sullinger, his scoring between Sully and Evans, and they'd improve defensively by drafting Aaron Gordon if they wanted.

Denver is an intriguing trade partner, but I think the Wolves would want to trade into young stars that were under contract for a while. It would be disastrous for them to trade for a player who could bolt after a while. That's one of the benefits that the Cs picks have in any Love deal that isn't talked about often: rookie scale contracts for the next half-decade.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

No way Danny would include the Brooklyn pick in this deal... I agree we need anther pick (maybe clippers pick or our 2016 pick) but def not brooklyns as brooklyns pick could be a top 5 pick.. Either way i think ur giving up way too much in this trade (no need to trade pressey and if u do we would be really short at PG)... And overall i just dont think philly is the right team to involve as Minny would have no use for Sully and Thad..

Another one:

Assumes Cleveland takes embiid. Milwaukee has Greek freak so Parker and wiggins don't look as desirable.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=poxksmr

Boston gets love and Martin

Minny gets pick 2 pick 17 ilyasova mayo and green

Milwaukee gets bogans instant expiring Anthony expiring sully pick 6 and pick 13

Quote

Mayo was plagued by injuries and personal issues and played in just 52 games this season. He shot a pedestrian 40.7 percent from the field and averaged 11.7 points. It?s no secret the Bucks would be willing to trade him, although that will be easier said than done because of his inflated contract. - Gary Woelfel

According to multiple sources, Ilyasova has expressed a desire to be traded, apparently having had his fill of the Bucks? continual rebuilding project.

Another nice one, but replace Pressey with Babb and I'm sold.  I don't really see Young staying in Philly, and Philly is still in collecting more assets/draft picks mode.

A very nice haul for Minnesota if they could pull this off, but I don't see The Bucks trading down at this point.  They could still draft Wiggins or Parker and see how it works with the Greek.  They could split time at SF for now, and I think Wiggins could even play some SG, and Parker some PF.

Aaron Gordon shot 35% on 3s in college.  He's already shown improved form on FTs and if he improves by 4 or 5 shots in 100 from 3 he's immediately one of the most impactful rookies in this class.  He would fit perfectly in today's NBA.  I think he'd be great on the break receiving throw downs from Rubio.

If Eric Gordon can get on the court for New Orleans then Martin is clearly the backup and saves millions compared to the Evans contract. Can NO play Holiday, Gordon and Evans at the same time?  Since that's probably not going to work why not save the money, add depth and create salary flexibility?  Plus we'd probably throw some 1st round picks in this trade.

If Gordon levels off and doesn't improve his shooting though teams will just sag off of Rubio, Evans, and Gordon.  Gordon only shot 42 percent from the foul line.

He's spent a lot of time already learning improved free throw shooting form and you only have to watch the Finals to see that improvement from beyond the line is possible. Kawhi Leonard went from something like 28% in college to 40% in the NBA.

Any way, up to the Wolves. Gordon isn't the point.  Whoever they want at 6.

Orlando is just trading backups. They grab exum at 4 and he and oladipo are their backcourt of the future. They get instant cap relief and pick six. Pick six provides a player on a rookie deal that's on a greater tier then pick 12.

Was on hoopshype.

Afflalo) wouldn't mind being moved to a playoff team. The clock is ticking loudly on his career as he'll turn 29 in October. The Magic can select a point guard at No. 4 this month, perhaps a signal that Victor Oladipo would move to Arron's position full-time. Afflalo could be in play at the June 26 draft. Chicago, Charlotte, Phoenix and Oklahoma City could use two-guards and have multiple first-round picks.
