This would be my blow it up offseason scenario.

Sign Bradley to his QO or a 3yr/14 mil dol deal.

I think the magic could be a possible player for a Rondo trade. He is just what they need to really maximize the talents of their players + a Rondo Oladipo backcourt would be nasty.

So first trade

Rondo + 17th to Magic for 4th, 12th, and Nelson expiring.
I think this is a win win for both sides. They can still move affalo and get value for him.
Rondo-Oladipo-Harris-?-Vuvecic. Maybe they trade for Josh Smith. That would be good for a top 4 seed in the east easily.

Next trade

Green to Memphis for Prince expiring and Koufos. I think Memphis gives it another go and brings in the perfect complementary player in Green to take them over the top.

I would like to send bass away to a contender but I am having trouble finding a fit for him. Anyone have any ideas on that?

So this leaves us sitting pretty in the draft with 4, 6, and 12.

4th- I take whoever falls (Wiggins Embiid Parker Exum) well say exum because he most likely to be there

6th- I take Gordon

12th- Mcbuckets.

This puts us like this

PG- Exum-Nelson-Pressey
SG- Bradley- Bayless?
SF- Gordon- Mcdermott-Wallace
PF- Sullinger-KO- Bass?
 C- Koufos-KO-Fav

This gives us a uber young team. We also add athleticism, size, and shooting. There is a ton of possible potential lineups as well with this roster. I think this puts us in a bright spot for the future. We will still have all of our assets and almost all major money expires (excluding wallace) im sure we could find a way to move him with all our assets if we really wanted to make a huge splash come 2015 FA. Bring in Klay Thompson and Marc Gasol and we have ourselves a sexy team in 2015.

So please guys tell me what you think good or bad. I like feedback it helps me learn and understand more.

scotto1205, I'd totally get on board with this.  It would be a pretty exciting young team.

I came up with a similar concept a while ago and people brought up some points...

#1 - Exum would be an ideal player next to Oladipo, because Exum has the size to cover PG's... he makes sense in Orlando.

#2 - Rondo probably wouldn't want to stay in Orlando... so they would probably be getting a 1 year rental and he'd kill the deal from happening.

#3 - Orlando would be silly to give up a potential superstar for Rondo even if he was willing to extend.

And at the time, my idea was to trade Rondo + #6 for #4 and an expiring... which really SHOULD be a sickly overpay, but people still shot it down.  So Rondo + #17 for #4 and #12 is likely a no-go.

Why does ORL take an expensive PG like Rondo over Exum who they supposedly Love and can keep cheaply for 7 years when they know they are rebuilding? Taking on Smith would be a bad move too. They're in no rush to get to the playoffs just to say they've been there.

I wasn't aware that they like exum that much. I was just thinking that rondo would be a great fit for that team. All those points are completely valid I was trying to come up with a rood trade from a different view I guess.

It's definitely a good idea.  I don't think we could get a top 5 pick for Rondo.   I think the best you can hope for is #7 from the Lakers, because the Lakers are one team I could envision Rondo re-upping with.

So if you want to take someone like Gordon, Vonleh with #6 and then take Smart with #7... you could then hope for a piece to fall to #17.   Nice young pieces to add to the rebuild... but we might be best off hanging onto Rondo if he's willing to extend.

Maybe we can get more assets for Jeff Green?

If we go that route then I would look at Sacramento honestly. I know it's 1 spot lower at 8 but I think we could still pull off a contender. Change of plans.

to sac: rondo bass
To Boston: 8th pick, s/t Isaiah Thomas (not sure on his contract I would think something along the lines of 3yr/21 million, Ben mclemore, and Jason Thompson.

Then make a move for love.

To minny: Sullinger, 6th, bogans, Anthony, 2015 boston top 5 protected.
To boston: Love

At 8 I would draft stauskas scouts are serious about him turning into one of the top shooters in the league and his athleticism is underrated.

Then I would trade for Asik.

To hou: s/t Humphries and Bayless, send Johnson as well.
To bos: Asik.

They seriously need to strengthen there bench. Humphries and Bayless well be low money anyway.

We would need to bring in a very nice bench but we should have the money to do so if we use the t/e for Asik.

Thomas
Stauskas
Green
Love
Asik

KO as the 6th man just add a few decent veterans with Wallace, Thompson, and Bradley That team would be an elite offensive team. While there will be some weakness defensively on the backcourt and love Asik will definatly help make up for it. I think if we resign love and Asik that team would be great in a year.

What do you guys think?!?!?

How do you think orlando makes  Oladipo/Afflalo work  best? I only watched them when they played us .If they get a pg it just seems like a cluster at guard and afflalo has 2 more yrs and is 28.

I think we could get stauskas possibly at 17. If your aiming for him then you trade down and get him where he falls.

BUT I don't think Kevin Love is the right move at all if we trade rondo...if we trade rondo we need a fresh start.

I don't think that's true referring to rondo. No one wants another losing season. That roster is good enough to get home court in the playoffs. Why complete restart if we don't have to? Stauskas's stock has been rising a lot lately. But I wouldn't mind a trade down if we still get him. No way he's at 17 though.
