Look, guys.  I'm not arguing against Aaron Gordon; I like him.  I like Sully and Olynyk too.  All I'm arguing is that I won't be happy with any of them as replacements for getting a legitimate, rim protecting starting center.

Luckily, almost every time Danny has gone on record about what this team's biggest needs, he responds by mentioning needing a "rim protector."

I'm glad he's running the show.  You two crazy basketball scientists should by all means keep having your fun, though.

Watch from 2:02 and 9:06

When was the last time you seen a 6'9 forward have the combination of lateral quickness, strength, explosiveness plus iq be able to defend multiple positions like this? To provide lockdown defense against the man he is guarding but also bail out his teammates on several occassions?

Gordon is a special talent.

You can get a rim protector like a chris anderson to play when its necessary. But he is no starter nor has the skills sully and ko have. Once these guys get nba bodies/gain experience they will hold their own on the defensive end. How is old man duncan and splitter able to do it?? Its more about iq, experience and not getting pushed around more than anything

Yeah, that, and being seven foot tall with an enormous wingspan and good mobility helps, too.

I think that I have stated my case why we should draft Noah Vonleh at 6. I did some research and Josh Smith and Gordon do have similar measurements / athleticism. Gordon is the youngest player in the draft, and Josh Smith was taken right out of high school . Heres Josh Smiths measurements /athl

I think Gordon would be a great fit at 3 with oly at the 4. 2 great passers at the forwards can really open things up. Gordon's D would mask a lot of issues with Oly's slow foot d.

In this line up we would need a go to scorer at the 2 and a well rounded 2 way center to help an or d and provide consistent offense.

Unfortunately there aren't any 2 way centers available.
For this line up I don't think asik or sanders for the bill.
Best attainable I can think would be Monroe. Not a great defender but average and young enough to improve. Skilled offensive weapon who would benefit from rondo, oly and Gordon getting him open looks.

Trade sully for young "get buckets" 2 guard
Use TE in S&T for Monroe.
Rondo
Get buckets
Gordon
Oly
Monroe

Hope to hell that Gordon sprouts another 1-2 inches and transitions into the best young center prospect in the game.
Foot note: like kg Gordon may start his career at the 3 and migrate to the 4/5 over time.
Kg's greatest attribute is his defensive drive and IQ, combined with unselfish play and a  competitive crazy streak.
Gordon shares these attributes, maybe with out the bezerker gene. But defensive iq, hustle, unselfish play, and an ultra comparative fire.
Could do worse ten drafting a kid withe these traits.
