I'd rather get Pekovic.

Why?

EDIT: nvm. Thought you said you rather get Pek over Love. But yeah, I would rather get Pek over Lopez for sure.

Brook Lopez is everything wrong with the NBA salary structure.  Dude got a max contract so they could use the MLE.  If they paid him what he was actually worth, they wouldn't have been eligible to use the MLE.  Just silly.
They paid him a max contract because he was going to get a max offer in RFA and they wanted him to be happy.

yep, pretty much.  23 year old centers that score 20 ppg don't exactly grow on trees.  And it looked like he was going to be healthy and in fact played in 74 games his first year of the extension (his first three years he played in all 82 games all three years, before having the two injuries in his fourth year).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I would like him, great offensive player, good shotblocker, only concerns are his feet obviously.

If we can get him for really cheap.  He's too injury prone for me.

Sometimes there is a guy who is very talented but just isn't the right fit for the talent that we have or will soon have(Love). Lopez seems to fit that perfectly. We need a defense/rebound first center like Asik or Sanders as a complement to Love at the 4. In a perfect world that would be Andre Drummond, but I don't see that happening. After acquiring Love, I can't construct a trade for Drummond with our remaining assets that doesn't include Rondo.

Jason Kidd has been pretty open about his dislike for him as a fit for his style of play, so this is not surprising.

I don't think they'll fetch any appealing offers until he returns to the court, though.

2014, 2016, AND 2018, with the right to swap in 2017.

Gut away is right.

Nope. not interested. If it was Robin Lopez, then we have something to talk about.

Watching the Portland-Houston series, it is quite interesting how Robin's stock has risen over the last two years, and Brook's has dropped, mostly due to injury.
