What about trading Green to Memphis for Tayshaun Prince and the 22nd pick? This helps the Grizz stay in the hunt in the west, gets us out from under Green's contract a year early, (Prince will be in his last year while Green can opt in for one more) plus it gives Ainge one more pick to play with as he sees fit. This is a fair trade that helps both teams IMO.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I am not necessarily for it as I like Green for this team and we seem to have a number of firsts coming up the next few years; however, I would have to say that this does seem like a very fair trade for both sides - nice job.

This is actually a fair trade, as long as you understand that Prince is effectively as washed up as Wallace, meaning you'd have to sign, trade for, or draft a small forward.

Also, if Love ends up going to another team, I wonder if a trade for Marc Gasol is a viable option.

Smart at 6, Warren at 17 and Glenn Robinson III at 22.

That'd be pretty dang nice

I mentioned a trade like this during the season.  Green seems like a natural fit for the Grizzlies.  Prince would be a nice veteran presence for our younger players, and an expiring contract.  However I'd almost want a future pick unless if we could package the 17 and 22 to move up to the 10 to 15 range.

Prince is toast.  getting the pick only makes sense if Danny plans to use it to land a vet but if he's sending out Green, what would be the point?

Totally agree.  Prince is washed up.  BUT, this does make sense if we get the #22 and a future pick as well.

The only reason I doubt that this is even feasible is that John Hollinger, creater of PER and Jeff Green's number one hater, works in the Grizzlies front office. Can't imagine him recommending any trade for Jeff Green with his performance compared to his salary. I feel like all of Hollinger's criticism toward's Green will blind him to the fact that Green would work much better in Memphis than Boston given the roster design. But anything can happen I suppose, heck, Green could end up there for all I know. I thought it was crazy they picked up Lee with his contract and Hollinger being there.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

Maybe with a future pick. But Jeff Green is worth way more than the 22 pick in this draft. Love Prince but he is a 10 to 15 minutes per game off the bench guy at this point in his career. Green is much more valuable especially with the assets we have to make a turn around.

I like this idea if we lose out on Love. Without its leading scorer, this team will be severely offensively challenged: tank mode 2.0.

I think this is a very good trade if.......

Love is not attainable and Rondo is traded.
