simple question

rondo, johnson, pierce, garnett, lopez

or

rondo, westbrook, durant, ibaka, perkins

or

rondo, harden, parson, jones, howard

or

rondo, stephenson, george, west, hibbert

can rajan rondo bring any of this team to WFC or ECF finals?

Good enough that you ought to spell his name, Rajon.  Or is Rajan some new prospect from India I don't know of? JK.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I'll try and ignore the incorrect spelling and answer the question...

Since Indy and OKC are already in the ECF and WCF, I think it goes without saying that they would both make it if you simply removed the worst player from their starting line-up and inserted Rondo.

Rondo for Williams might not make an enormous difference for some (I think it should and he has chemistry with Pierce/Garnett), but adding Lopez back in the lineup obviously gives them a strong chance.

As with Indy/OKC, if you remove their worst player and insert Rondo, it should make a big enough difference.

The Thunder are already a finals team. Add Rondo and of course they still are.

I think that the Rockets with Rondo is also a finals team- but this is coming from a guy who was completely shocked to see the how much the Rockets underachieved this year. They aren't going anywhere with anyone unless they share the ball and play defense. In principle, having Rondo distribute and play good defense from the point is what they need.

Well, one way to look at it is whether it would be worth the trouble/hassle/shakeup/instability that comes with making a trade to swap him for another PG in the league.

And there may be only a couple of players in the league that I would trade Rondo for at the PG spot, at the most.  Not that Rondo is so much better in each case, but it is just more wise to keep him.

Rondo does, with a decent jumper, pretty much exactly what I want a PG do to.

That's how good he is.
