sorry, but we could not attract a big star when they were here last two years, why would anyone come here next year? Let it go, my friend.

This is a little misleading. They never had the cap space to lure big stars. Except for David West, what big star declined to come to Boston?

And my memory tells me that Boston and Indy were the final 2 choices for DWest and he smartly chose Indy as the team with the brighter future.

Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett all signed with Boston when they didn't have to.  They attracted each other.

What big star wanted to come to Boston?

If I'm remembering correctly, West ultimately chose Indy because he had a firm contract offer in hand from Indy, whereas it was not immediately clear the Celtics offer (S&T with NO) was going to go through.

I think if NO hadn't balked on taking back JO, West would have signed with the C's.

as much as I love them, Pierce/KG are on their last legs as players. it has surprised me how much they digressed this year from last. I mean KG is only averaging 6.9ppg? and pierce around 13ppg

just last year pierce was up around his average 18ppg and KG his 13-14ppg

Yeah, I think KG hangs it up after this season.
