I've been thinking about this guy as a nice pick up too. What did he do to get dismissed and does that factor into why he wouldn't be a healthy addition? Is he a punk of sorts?

Seemingly ideal size and skill set for the 2G position.

I wondered the same thing, so I looked it up...

He was originally suspended by NC for "receipt of impermissible benefits" based on NCAA rules.  He wasn't really dismissed by NC, they decided not to fight to reinstate him after their suspension of him I guess because the evidence was so strong that he accepted use of luxury rental cars.  He did have a couple other brushes with the law as well.

I don't know if all that is really enough of a black eye that we wouldn't draft him?

Were I the Celtics, I'd want to have a complete record of what NC found out when they decided not to seek reinstatement.  He'd probably have to sign a waiver for the school to release the records -- if he doesn't sign, that's good enough for me that he has something to hide, and I'd move on.  I'm fine with second chances, but I'd want to know for sure how bad did he mess up the first chance, and how well has he moved onto his second one.

Well he looks like he would be a good match on Off w/ Rondo.  He has some great nba range on his jumper, and has good size and strength for a shooting guard.  He looks to be NBA ready.  With how things ended w/ NC, maybe he comes in with something to prove?

Just like we need a rim protector, we need scoring and 3 point shooting.  This could be a good 2nd pick for DA.
Especially so if we end up getting one of the top 4 players + Hairston.  A rehab of Hairston's rep would add another great asset to the team.
