Bass, sullinger and wallace and his poor shooting ways are obviously not getting it done(at least keep it close) . New starting lineup proposal

Humphries
Olynyk
Green
Johnson
Rondo

Its still probably the best option till Bradley comes back. I'd put just Johnson in if I really felt I had to shake things up though.

Easier to dictate a favorable situation for Olynyk if he's on the bench.

I disagree. They're definitely getting the tank job done.

Seriously though, we just don't have a lot of pieces that fit well together. I expect Coach Stevens to keep experimenting with different units - do guys like Bass, Humphries, Sully and Wallace will continue to shuffle in and out of the starting lineup.

Starting Olynyk against Spencer Hawes is actually a good idea.

2nd unit could run the offence through Sully on the block.

At this point, I don't see any point in not giving the younger guys as many minutes as possible.

If the idea was to showcase Humphries / Bass for other teams, well, there's plenty of tape now.

Agreed, and actually really happy with what they've put out so far, mainly Humphries. I think what he's done this season should attract some attention.

I really don't think it matters who starts, we just aren't a very good team.

Giving Olynk starters minutes would be the most beneficial situation for himself and the organization.

I'm generally against the idea of giving rookies starting minutes simply because they are rookies and need to develop.

I'd rather bring rookies off the bench against opposing bench players. Bring them along slowly. Even if they aren't starting, they can still get 20-30 minutes of playing time during the course of a game.

Throwing first-year players to the lions risks destroying their confidence (although I'll admit there are a few rookies who'd be fine). KO strikes me particularly as someone who should be coming off the bench for now.

I agree with this.  It doesn't really matter who starts.  We just aren't very good.  I would sit Sully for a couple of games or until his finger is better.  After that both he and KO get more minutes.  It isn't going to be pretty, but that is the only way they can get better.

Yup. At this point anybody who is injured should be resting until completely healed. Let Rondo work out the kinks in his game and showcase our veterans that are not in a our long term plans. When Sully and Bradley are completely healthy, have them play minutes with KO and Rondo.

I don't like the idea of giving someone mins or starting someone just because they're young or just for the hell of it. I believe a player should always earn mins. otherwise you end up with a bunch of Antoine walkers.

as much as I wanted to see al Jefferson get more mins. when doc was here, I did like the fact that doc made him earn his mins.

as for the current state of the lineup. id start:

C  anthony
PF sully(even though he completely sucks right now)
SF green
SG Johnson(he's earned it...sad)
PG rondo

Anthony is a legitimate c at least and fav is just inconsistent.

either way this team is going to struggle till rondo starts to come around.

If we wanted better shooters we wouldn't have traded Lee...

No, Sullinger against Hawes would be good. you don't put a soft big man up against a soft big man and call it a matchup. Sully can bully him. And Sullinger starts, he's the future.

At least until the next Kevin Garnett becomes available.

No, you DO call it a matchup on defense for KO. What you don't do is look only at one side of the floor.
