When Hump plays big minutes, he's being "showcased."
When Olynyk plays big minutes, the team is "sacrificing winning in the present for future development."
There's absolutely no truth to the rumor that Brad Stevens is playing the guys who he thinks give the team the best chance to win on a game by game basis.
Editing the sarcasm:
I think that the "goals" of developing young players and showcasing veterans are natural by-products of this roster. I don't see any need for coach Stevens to do anything but play the players that he sees as giving his team the best chance on a nightly basis. If he continues to do that, which is what I believe he's been doing, the "showcasing" and "developing" will take care of themselves.
I'm not a believer in all the ulterior motives theories that pop up every time the rotation chances.
