NYK Can get out from under Stoudemire's uninsured contract, and both Wallace and Hump can help them push to the top of the east.

My trade also proposes sending them Bayless.

The Celtics then also trade Bogans and Bass to Charlotte for Ben Gordon's contract... ...and NYK Sends them Shumpert.

The Bobcats would then have a pretty bad-ass set of wing defenders for their playoff run.

Think of how much this improves both the Knicks and the Cats:

Cats:

Jefferson
Bass
MKG
Shumpert
Kemba Walker

Knicks:

Melo
Chandler
Bargnani
G. Wallace (in a huge line up - they don't need his shooting)
Bayless

It would all depend what we could get out of Stoudemire:

Rondo
Bradley
Stoudemire/Sullinger
Green
Olynyk

This trade has been proposed by others (http://www.sportsgrid.com/nba/kris-humphries-amare-stoudemire-trade/)... ...the difference here is that, by trading Bogans Bass and Bayless and absorbing Ben Gordon's contract, the Celtics would continue to have the cap relief projected by the expiration of Hump's contract in 2014.

Furthermore, they would be an additional $3M under the cap - this year.

That's putting it lightly.

If I never see another Amare trade idea thread, it'll be too soon.

That's a pretty harsh sentiment, isn't it? The tagline says "Stoudemire for Hump and Wallace (with Bobcats add)[IDEA]. ...did you come click on this thread just to tell me how you never want to read another Amare trade idea? Did I fail to properly advertise what the post was about?

No, you correctly described it. Then bumped it twice by responding to your own post. Perhaps that's what set me off a bit.

Honestly, the Amare idea comes up every week in a new thread, and we get to rehash the same sides of the argument over and over, ad nauseum.

At least you put your own twist on it by bringing Charlotte into it.

We have been posting for about the same amount of time on this blog (seven years!); you have more than 10 times as many posts as I do. I'm not bagging on you for that (whatever, we all waste time on the internet in different ways); but your response was pretty exclusive. You want an echo chamber where the same group of guys with high post counts are the only ones communicating?

I rarely check CB. The idea just occurred to me today. I'm excited about it. Yeah - I bumped my own thread. It's a good idea, isn't it? Gordon's salary expiration offers an even bigger salary break than the Humphries'.

I'm not trying to advocate from some sort of elitist perspective here. If you haven't been around here recently, you wouldn't know that these Amare trade ideas literally come up every week, but I found it quite ironic that you used the term "echo chamber," because that's exactly what I was reacting to.

To speak more concretely and constructively about your trade idea: Bayless cannot be involved in a trade for another two months if his salary is being aggregated (combined) with others to bring back a larger contract. [Edit: apologies, it looks like that wouldn't be the case here, since Bass and Bogans are also going out with Wallace and Hump.]

I would rather release Wallace and use the stretch provision than bring in Amare's cap-choking, fully uninsured contract.

Yeah, the Amare zombie trade... never dies. I've banged that drum for some months now, and still banging it (i.e. today in the Deng frontpage post) ;D

I'd take Amare if the Knicks take on Wallace, like a Lafrentz for Ratliff 2.0.

But Lucky17 is right in that you can't trade Bayless in combination with other players.

Alright - I appreciate your suggestions - Bayless doesn't need to be included in this trade, if Sessions (from Charlotte) takes his spot to come in and help the Knicks out at PG.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lqwa7rp

Still, I think the benefit to both Knicks and Bobcats in this one are the PFs they'd be getting (and their lower salaries). Humphries fits in better with the what the Knicks are trying to do than Stoudemire does; and Bass is a big improvement over McRoberts. He has that floor stretching jumper that would really help them on offense.

I'd take Amare in a heartbeat if it got us out of Wallace's contract (which I totally think was worth taking to get all those picks from the Nets). I can't imagine the Knicks doing anything like that, but who knows, they've done stupid things...often. If its Wallace + Hump + a pick, I'd still consider it.
