1. This road trip firmly cements us with Utah and the Bucks for the top three worst records in the league - and we stay there for the rest of the season. But get a lot of experience along the way for the young guys. Lots of growth.
2. After circling the wagons for a few games when Horford went down, the Hawks nose dive and end up with a 5th to 8th pick in this year's draft as well. Brooklyn stays in lock step with Atlanta and therefore it doesn't matter too much which pick we get.
3. We actually get a top three pick after missing out on the Duncan and Durant drafts.
4. We are able to unload Bass, Lee & Humnphries at the trade deadline and Gerald Waalace if at all possible.
5. Rondo comes back but only plays spot minutes and nothing that changes anything.
The Draft
Our Pick: Top three pick
(We end up with Embiid
ATL / Brooklyn pick: between 4 & 8.
Marcus Smart of Zach LaVine
I think Smart could be a Joe Dumars type two guard. He's also be good insurance as a future point guard in the event we couldn't come to reasonable terms with Rondo. For now, he plays the two guard spot...
Trade for Gordon Heyward.
Embiid / Vitor / Iverson
Sully / Olynyk
Heyward /
LaVine or Marcus Smart / Bradley
Rondo / Crawford / Press
I think the Embiid / Sullinger combo could end up brining us multiple championships.
We can add more scoring at the wing via the mid level - maybe something behind Heyward.
I don't call it tanking. I call it strategic development.
