I'd still like to know what happened? from that video it looked like jeff was upset about something bass didn't do  either defensively or rebounding-wise or both and let him know about it. and then it seemed like bass proceeded to pout because he got called out.

I personally have never been a big fan of bass & it's clear he's a typical player looking for a new contract having his best yr.

the 1st offer for this guy is probably the best offer.

Bass didn't come out of the game until well after Green was in snit mode, but he also isn't in a contract year.

My son favorite player is Jeff Green, if it wasn't for that, I would not mind seeing both of these guys shipped out.  It wouldn't bother me but it would crush him.

Both are flawed and we can add immaturiy to their flaws after this drama.

Bass wasn't available for comment after the game, but CSNNE's Abby Chin did report that Green said it was just a misunderstanding, and that he and Bass are "just tired of losing."

I think it is as simple as this.  Green slammed the ball, came out, ignored the coach with an "I know" look on his face when the coach said you shouldn't slam the ball, and then probably barked at Bass about not passing enough (or maybe had said something on the court).

Now let's see if Green and Bass can turn this into something positive for themselves and the team.

BB is an inconsistent 2 who makes no consistent attempts to rebound, to defend or to pass out of trapping situations.  He now thinks he is the go-to guy on the offense.  It also appears he is starting to alienate Green, who is the C's best offensive player.

Who knows, maybe if the coach hadn't felt the need to send a message and bench Green after the incident, Green would have in the game at the end.  He has a tendency to make big shots at the end of games, and I certainly don't trust anyone else (espec Crawford) to make the big shot at the end of games.

Brandon is a tough give it your heart guy who wont/cant back down ever that finds a way to score but is still undersized for his position.

Holy Revisionist History, Batman!

Bass had nine points this game and was guarding Milsap.  He was 2-6 and only played 24 minutes.   In that time he only had 2 rebounds.   Milsap was killing him and finished with 34.   I think he had like 17 at the half.  Milsap absolutely destroyed him head to head play.  Milsap is 6'8" and Bass is 6'8" same size.  Bass didn't have to not back down because this game he got pushed on his rear!

If that was all his heart had to give we are in real trouble.

See this is where a lot of the problem is with our high expectations. Brandon Bass and Jeff Green are just average role playing guys when you get right down to it. Sure Bass is tough, so was Big Baby. Doesnt mean they are talented. Same with Green, he has loads of talent but isnt very good at using it apparently.

Paul Milsap is a star in this league. Still he is probably not a top 5 PF. He brutalized Bass and you didnt see that coming? Doesnt mean Bass doesnt play with heart though does it?

Not for me anyway. ???

First unit stunk it up pretty bad. Bass and Crawford were both horrendous. Can't blame Stevens for not playing Green when 2nd unit is out playing the first. What was confusing is when Crawford gets the final shot. Why not use Green's size advantage to get something going to the hoop!

I think we all are guilty of it from time to time.   We have no superstars on our roster playing.   I wonder if Rondo is one sometimes and I love the guy.

I was explaining to my son that a lot of basketball is mentality.  Bass is taller than Charles Barkley and a debate could be made that he is a better athlete.  Barkley  was a better rebounder.   Green is taller than PP and a better athlete but PP was way better than him.   Some of it is skill, some of it is basketball IQ but a lot of it is mental toughness and adopting an attitude to do the things other do not want to do.   Bass is as big as Milsap, who lays a lot more under the rim, but it is what is between the ears that separates them.

Amen, we all miss Paul Pierce and KG. We just dont have anyone of that caliber except Rondo and he isnt quite ready to take the reins yet. I hope he is healthy enough to get it done when he does come back.

it was confusing to stevens and everyone else too. if you watch a replay you can see stevens' plan was for olly to set a screen, crawford to go LEFT off the screen, and then pass to lee....who was wide open for a shot from the corner.

but crawford decided to play the hero, went right and was not on the same page as anyone else, thereby jacking up a low percentage shot. and the celtics lose again.

lay the blame here with crawford, not stevens.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Barkley was significantly more athletic than Bass.
