Just stumbled upon this, and would like to hear your opinions ;)
Lets just skip to the quote to begin with:
Quote
"I'm told a Mormon mission still isn't out of the question for him," wrote Chad Ford. "I asked several GMs about what would happen to his draft stock if he declared for the draft and then said he was going on a two year mission. I was surprised how many of them said they'd still consider him with the No. 1 pick."

Now, if we end up with a possible top 3 pick, would you consider drafting Parker even though you knew that he was going on a mormon mission? I doubt i would myself, due to the fact that 2 years away from basketball is a long time. What are you opinion on this ;D?

He would be foolish to do so.  He will have the rest of his life to go on missions after a successful NBA career.

If we drafted him DA will talk him out of doing it now, and wait until he's retired.

He can go ahead and feel free to threaten it if the Celtics don't get a top-2 pick :)

i may be mistaken, but didnt david robinson get drafted in 1987, but not play with the spurs until 1989 due to service commitments to the navy?

and yes, parker is worth the wait....unless embiid is available, then take him instead.  ;D
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Nah, I'd draft Wiggins instead. I still think Wiggins will end up being the better player.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Id draft him still. He has "it" even his name...it just sounds like he'd be a star...

I'm not sure the C's are that patient, but if I'm a team like the Sixers, heck yes. Bring in Noel next year, get another high pick in 2015 and then add Parker. Being able to go MCW - Noel - Parker + another lottery pick would be ideal for them IMO compared to bringing in both Noel and Wiggins next year and trying to make it all work.
