Don't have much to comment about the trade rumors, but I will say that Crawford has certainly earned some respect. I absolutely hate mindless me-first chuckers, but I have to give credit where credit is due, and I must say that Crawford has absolutely transformed into a team player. He's finally taking advantage of his underrated passing ability, and his shot selection has improved. There's still a good bunch of Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. moments from him, but the positives are certainly outweighing the negatives this year.

Give us a first round and a second and there might be business. Then package some pick with Wallace+Lee+Hump for Amare and Shumpert and be ready to contend in 2016 at the latest.
That's how it's done!!  They didn't want him down in Washington, but WE'RE STARTING TO LOVE HIM!!! Now the whole League loves him!
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.

It's finally happened. Tommy Heinsohn got a Celticsblog account. :)
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Misleading reporting. Just GMs speculating. Nothing from Miami.

Wallace, Bogans and Crawford for Lebron sounds fair to me although Miami may have to add a couple of first round picks to make sure the deal goes through  ;D

A future Heat 1st rd pick could have some really good value. There are some major questions for the team this off-season. A owner that is against the luxury tax bill and will continue making decisions because of it (amnesty of Miller), the opt out option of James, Wade, and Bosh, the free agency status of Allen and Chalmers, the impending Battier retirement at the end of the year (he's been giving plenty of not so subtle hints), Wade knees, and the rumor that Dallas will be going hard after Bosh this summer (he's from Dallas and could be growing sick of such a reduced role - 14 ppg, 6 rpg, 28 mpg, 10 fga this year).

While that team is great now, but they are an older team and aren't free of question marks. There future isn't as bright as some may think and this could cause a future 1st to have some legitimate and unexpected value.

Back to my Trade:

Crawford for Norris Cole, Oden, and Minni's 2nd Round

Crawford is better than Cole but he is also an expiring contract.  Is very likely will sign elsewhere  Cole has two years than a QO.

We have enough draft picks so I don't really want a late first round, rather have a mid-round second.  Cole is a good solid back up PG who would play behind Rondo for at least 2 years and at a good price.

Oden of course is the wild card.  It is much more likely that Boston would be able to play him.  He probably ends up being little or no value in the end but there is a chance he is around for a few years.  If you don't like Oden, Miami also has Beasley and Mason on non-guaranteed minimum contracts so we could take one of them or another future pick.

So this comes down to the extra season we get control of Cole.  I actually like Cole and how he would fit with Rondo, Bradley, Lee, Brooks.  That guard rotation could be a supporting cast for a contending team.

Probably not a serious rumor, even if a rumor at all.....

But, to play along - wonder if we could get them to part with Beasly?  The knuckle-head looks like he's finally got his head on somewhat straight, and he does have talent ....not unlike Crawford himself.  They'd want to keep him, but with  LBJ,  Battier, and Hasldm they are better stocked at the 3-4.   If Stevens and the staff could get the Bease to play to his potential, he'd be a good rotation guy at the 3-4...or maybe this is just a pipe dream (pun intended)

Miami would never do that. They feel Cole is their PG of the future and he's waiting in the wings should Chalmers bolt in the summer. They also like Oden a lot and are being very patient with him. Their goal is to have him ready in the playoffs so he can defend against bigger centers like Lopez and Hibbert.

I have my doubts about the veracity of the "rumor" so I can't claim to know what Miami may or may not accept but for a win now team to trade a back up doesn't seem like a stretch.  What exactly is Miami's "future"?  Are they going to build around Norris Cole and Oden?  Would they really pass on a perceived upgrade (assuming the rumor is true) this year so that they are protected from Chalmers not resigning?  If that is the case then I suspect the whole rumor is a farce.  On the other hand, if the rumor is true, this is not much to give up to get a player they want.
