For starters, the salaries just about match up, so this trade is feasible from a money standpoint.
Also, this trade would be made under the assumption that Danny is more interested in not making the playoffs.
Why for Boston?
Again, if the Celtics are not looking to get a playoff spot, this trade makes some sense. They offload two vets on multiple-year deals, while getting two young prospects in return, along with a guy who is good for the locker room.
Why for OKC?
I actually like the Thunder's backup backcourt of Jackson and Lamb, but there was a report that they were looking to move Lamb, so he's apparently on the market.
This trade allows them to get rid of Perkins while acquiring two great role players. Their team would look like:
Westbrook/Jackson
Sefolosha/Lee
Durant/Gomes
Ibaka/Bass
Adams/Collison
That's pretty good.
