Honestly, I would take Ben Gordon for Wallace and Brooks. Wallace really isn't a difference maker for this team and if we can get out from under his salary and give us a bunch of cap room in the offseason.

The Bobcats would get someone who could come close to MKG's production in Wallace as well as another wing rotation player in Brooks. If they want to make the playoffs this year, that is a good deal for them.

I don't see the Bobcats dealing MKG just two years in after being the number two pick. It was always known he would be a project going in, I think he won't be very good until year 4, but by then I expect him to be very good.

MKG has been a major disappointment -- he's struggling to find any meaningful role in the NBA, and he hasn't progressed this season. Jeff Taylor's a better player.

Might I suggest a variation?

CHA gets: Wallace, Bass, Green, Brooks
BOS gets: Gorden, Sessions, Biyombo, Taylor

You could try to add that Portland pick -- see if the Cats bite. I doubt they do it, but MJ's personnel moves rarely make sense, and they're a pretty desperate franchise at this point.

The Cs would free up $4mil+ under the lux tax this season -- they could then use the PP trade exception plus a pick to a acquire a player they like, should the right opportunity come along.

Who is MKG? :-X

I'm just drawing a blank and don't want to have to go to another site to look it up.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.

I agree with others, we'd have to send either a lottery pick or multiple future picks to make this deal work.

Still think it is crazy that he was thought of as the "safe" pick in that draft and now look at him.

That's not bad at all, but I think I'd want to send another guard to Charlotte if that's the return we're looking at.

That concussion seems to have really messed up his career.

I hear you, but we're already loading them up on salary pretty good here, they're not likely to take Lee due the Henderson, and I stretched the outgoing salary differential about as far as it can (within reason).

I wouldn't. Gerald Wallace right now is playing great as the 6th man on this team and is making a difference. No way I deal him for Ben Gordon.

The difference between Wallace's production and Ben Gordon's is negligable. The difference between 3 more years of Wallace's contract and having the cap space is worth more than the difference in talent.

Wallace for Gordon -- or any variation thereof -- wouldn't be a basketball trade (for the Celtics), it'd be a cap management trade.

FTFY, ssspence. LOL.

Trading Wallace for an expiring, without having to give up a draft pick to do it? Priceless.

I can get behind that. We're also shoring up their wing rotation and big man depth.

So they'd be going

Walker
Henderson
Green
Bass
Jefferson

with MKG first off the bench followed by Wallace. That's not a terrible team if they're trying to hit, say, the second round of the playoffs.

Agreed. They're pretty despair are for relevancy -- round 2 of the playoffs would be a big step for them.

Did Pierce,MKG, JJ Reddick, and Anthony Davis have a hand-breaking pact?

Are body-injury pacts the new trend in the NBA?

Broken hands are the new plantar fasciitis!!!

MKG isn't even drinking age yet.  He's playing fine for a child.  The idea that you could trade Charlotte our worst contract for him is absurd.

In order to get a young lotto prospect like that, you usually have to TAKE ON bad salary... not dump bad salary.

To get a conversation started it would have to be something like MKG and Haywood's 3 year contract for Avery Bradley and a future 1st rounder... you could use the Pierce trade exception to match contract value.

They'd probably ask for multiple lotto picks.

If you insist on dumping bad salary you can try trading Rajon Rondo and Gerald Wallace for Ben Gordon (expiring), Sessions (expiring) and MKG.

I assume you're being sarcastic? Where MKG was drafted is irrelevant (other than the overly big paycheck he gets for it). He stinks.

Avery Bradley (better player), a 1st (presumably a better player), and we take on a luggage Charlotte deal... for Kidd-Gilchrist?
