Its time for Celtics fans and media to face the realization that there is way too much talent on this team for the Celtics to tank.  And a real fan does not want to see their team lose.  If they were a horrible team then that would that would be another story, but they are not. This team has players like Jeff Green and Jarod Sullinger that could be all-stars.  A defensive stopper who is becoming a reliable shooting guard in Avery Bradley. An upcoming star in KO.  When Rajon Rondo comes back, look out. And oh yeah, they have an excellent young coach. This team is a lock for the playoffs.  A real Celtic fan should be happy about this.  I am.

Well, not ALL of "the media" believes we're tanking.

BSPN and Stephen A** Smith will assert anything.

But quality sites, like Celticsblog  ;), redsarmy and a few others are less extreme.

As for making the playoffs, I'd like for that to happen too :). Unlike some, I'm not going to freak out if we make it. Because it means our young assets are playing up their value (be it for us or for trade), plus we have quite a handful of firsts over the next few years, and the Hawks/Nets are looking real bad this year!

You are being sarcastic right, we beat CLE Whoopity Doo.  Against a good team, play hard but we are toast.

The team does have a lot of talent and they may not be elite, but I didn't say that. I said they are a PLAYOFF team. Perhaps I left out in ..."Eastern Conference".   And BTW, Cleveland is a decent team, off to a rough start. Do you not think they are a playoff team in the East?

Playoffs team perhaps because so many are tanking and the Atlantic is so bad and less to do with our talent, I think.

CLE is tanking, did you watch the game and see their starters?   They blew their picks on Bennett and Waiters it seems.  Zeller barely played.

playoff team, maybe.  championship team, no way.  this draft is so deep, you need to get into top seven or eight to get a franchise type player.

i'm all in favor of getting into those spots!  put a player like smart with rondo and sully and see what happens?  i said it before, he was a lotto pick until his back caused issues.

They're playing above their heads right now because Stevens has them buying into his brand of basketball. In truth this is still a probably 25-28 win squad on talent alone. That's okay. Think of them as the anti Knicks. I think what this does say is that if they do pick in the top 5 this year they'll get (in theory) the cornerstone player to run with Rondo. That would give the Celtics a legit shot at being a top seed in the East next year.

The sad part is you may be right  :'(. Take a look at our roster:

Crawford - is playing much better than anyone ever guessed
AB - has all of a sudden developed a very consistent jumper
JG - is just a very good player (on most nights)
Sully - is becoming a force, he can get his shot off against bigger players, which was the big question
KO - still think this kid is going to be very good

Rondo comes back
Bass - good player
keeps going on

Than I look at Decembers schedule and I can see them being .500 at the end of the month, after that I think they should slide down a bit. But with the east so weak 35 wins could get you in, even worse that could win the [dang] division!!!
