Not a chance he gained 16 pounds of muscle since we last saw him 12 weeks ago. Sorry, this stuff is NEVER true.
Not all the weight gained is muscle.

I don't know this site's rules on posting links - but here it is...

Sorry, I forgot to add it. Thanks and TP.

I don't know how much muscle or weight he has gained but I'm just glad he can actually start doing work for the first time during an offseason. Go get it ABeast, make them FEEL you!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

It's off season and he wants to play at 188. With some creatine, 10 pounds of muscle and 6 pounds of fat is pretty realistic.
That's still not very realistic, almost a pound every week.

He said it himself in the article, he wasn't really eating at the end of the season.  So when he started eating again he was just gaining back the weight he should have had.

Regardless, working it off to 188 puts him about 20lbs under 60-70% of SGs.  Maybe if he continues lifting every day (which he should have been doing before his 4th season) for a couple years he'll start to gain some significant muscle weight.  But he'd have to build himself up to Ben Gordon or larger to reach 195-200 like some of you guys are talking about.

actually he's right. It is not possible to gain 16 lbs in 12 weeks, unless he is on something. Creatine and protein aren't going to help much in muscle gaining in such a short amount of time. Even if you binge eat (which a lot of people bulking up does including me), it is hard to gain weight. I gained 10 lbs (muscle + fat), in like 4-5 months. 16 lbs is a lot of weight you're putting on, and for a guy like Bradley who is roughly 188 lbs at 6'4, he would look a lot more bulkier and I do not see that in the pictures.

Shh... Only non-Celtics would even CONSIDER hgh, anabolics, etc. Celtics are just inherently harder workers.

That's what I was thinking.  I could pretty darn easily gain 16 pounds in 12 weeks.  Heck I could probably do it in just over a week if I really applied myself to it.  Of course I would look gross and disgusting pretty quickly and would be eating so much garbage I might cause other health problems.

Yeah, Avery was already seriously 'cut'. Even if all of the 16 lbs he gained was fat, he would still look really in shape and people would think he just got huge. I think he has the right idea to gain some weight, get as strong as he can while maintaining his speed/agility, and then losing a few lbs to be even more speedy/agile. He isn't a forward, he is a guard and is the better he is on defense on the perimeter and along full court, the better.

Given his 6' 2" (w/o shoes) frame, with his long (6' 7.25") arms, it's not at all unreasonable for him to carry 196 lbs.

The question of whether he has gained 16 lbs in just 12 weeks is maybe just begging the question of whether he was really 'only 180' at the end of last season.

Just because his player weight was listed as 180 to start last year doesn't mean much.   He could have been much lighter or heavier than that at various points in the season.

He's young and at an age when he is probably continually adding muscle mass.  If he started the season at 180, I can easily believe he was over 185 by season's end.

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I'm concerned about that much weight gain in such a short time. Nothing to do with PED's necessarily, but I hope the extra weight does not impact his speed or quickness (2 different things).

Cedric Maxwell is certainly beefed up in that picture.  AB looks about the same to me.

He said his body broke down on him, he was sick a lot, and he wasn't eating... I think he must have lost weight by the end rather than gained any.
